1. Gordon Milne 1982-1986 (left us for Besiktas where, after some time away, he returned in 2006 to become Director of Football)

2. Bryan Hamilton 1986-1987 (Took us down after Milne had got us promoted in 82-83. Now a freelance pundit.)

3. David Pleat 1987-1991 (Now a commentator for 5 Live and ESPN)

4. Brian Little 1991-1994 (Beat The Shaggers at Wembley. Left to Villa. In 2009 he was appointed manager of Gainsborough Trinity in the Conference North. Sacked in August after a bad start to the season.)

5. Mark McGhee 1994-1995 (Fat Scottish Bar Steward left for Molineux. Career never looked back. Became statistically the second worst Aberdeen manager of all time and was sacked December 2010.)

6. Martin O'Neill 1995-2000 (My hero)

7. Peter Taylor 2000-2001 (Buggered it all up. Spells with England, Brighton, Hull, England u21's, Palace, Stevenage, Wycombe and Bradford have led him to his current post as Bahrain manager)

8. Dave Bassett 2001-2002 (Moved up to Director of Football after the appointment of Adams. Assistant to 'Arry at Southampton and that c*nt Wise at Leeds since.)

9. Micky Adams 2002-2004 (Took us up with a good squad, in the face of backroom adversity, at a canter but his side loved conceding in the last ten minutes the following year. Now at Port Vale.)

10. Craig Levein 2004-2006 (Followed for Raith Rovers, a successful spell at Dundee United and now Scotland boss. In my experience this was a dire period for the club. Stuck mid-table Championship.)

11. Rob Kelly 2006-2007 (Went on to the coaching staff at Preston, Sheffield Wednesday and now Assistant Manager at Forest. Similarly dire.)

12. Martin Allen 2007 (We've all heard the rumours and formed our own opinions. Sacked at Cheltenham in 2009 for racially abusing a bouncer. Helped save Barnet from relegation then ran off to Notts Co.)

13. Gary Megson 2007 (The most defensive football I've ever seen. Only highlight was our mini-run in the League Cup. Him leaving felt like being snubbed by a fat girl in a nightclub. Bolton now Wednesday.)

14. Ian Holloway 2007-2008 (In my opinion, the biggest berk of the lot. We all know what happened. Worsened by turning Blackpool into world beaters for 12 months afterwards.)

15. Nigel Pearson 2008-2010 (My second favourite. Partied our way to the League One Championship. Highest ever win ratio of any permanent City manager. Now at the KC)

16. Paulo Sousa 2010 (Inherited a squad of players who did not fit his style of play. Now Manager of Hungarian champions Videoton)

17. Sven-Goran Eriksson (Probably our highest profile appointment to date. Who knows what he'll do next)

For me, Pearson and O'Neill stand above the rest and share a special place in my affection. I have nothing against Little, Adams, Eriksson and Bassett. Gave us some good memories (Promotion, Promotion, Beating Derby 4-0, and restoring some dignity to us after Taylor.)

Anything before Little is before my time I'm afraid.

Levein and Kelly took charge of a club with little resources and failed to ignite any spark.

Allen beat favourites for the league 4-1 the final (full) game before being sacked. Megson liked playing 7 at the back. Just a bad season for the club apart from those trips to Villa Park and Stamford Bridge.

Pearson shouldn't have gone. Sousa tried to change too much in too little time with a squad that started the season inexcusably lacking fitness.

My anti-Mark McGhee feelings have subsided after he's achieved nothing in the 16 years since he left the club.

The same can't be said to Taylor and Holloway. Still raw.

Notice in the first 12 1/2 years of that time we had 6 manages (6 in 18 years in fact.) That's compared to 11 (soon to be 12) in the next 12 1/2 years. Football's a changing game, and when it comes to impatience with managers, we've sadly been at the forefront of it.

My favoured replacement would of course be O'Neill. Failing that I'm pro-Davies and Jones. Not so pro-Keegan or Keane. Never was hot on Lee Clark.

Little, O'Neill, Adams and Pearson deserve credit for at least winning promotion, obviously in some cases far more than that.

Some are better best forgotten.

Anything before Little was before my time, but we seem to forget he bogged off to Villa when the going got tough. Though beating the Sheepshaggers in a playoff final is always satisfying :)

McGhee had us playing some nice stuff (especially away from home), and had a reasonable record before he comically thought his lot would be better at Wolves.

O'Neill greatest Leicester manager, and Leicester team of all time. 2 Leaugue cups, a Promotion, and a lot of memorable results. Euro football aswell. And i was lucky enough for it to be in my time, and to be at many of the games. Signed Izzet, Savage, Lennon, Keller, Cottee, and got the best out of Grayson, Walsh, Whitlow and whoever else pulled on a Leicester shirt.

Taylor. C U Next Tuesday. Signed Dennis Wise, effectively ruined all of O'Neill's good work, and wasted our money on absolute shite. The first reason was enough for my initial description of this waste of sperm.

Dave Bassett. Inheriting anything that the amazingly useless Peter Taylor has been abywhere near is always going to be difficult.

Micky Adams. Suprised he gets panned so much on here, took over aftr we had been relegated with no money, a transfer embargo, and turned a team of losers into a team of winners and got us promoted at the first attempt. Yes we lost games in the last ten minues in the Prem the following season and went down, but he assembled the best side he could with what was available to him.

Craig Levein was in charge at a time i am very ashamed to say, i just lost interest. Mid table, Boring football, and Carl 'Stand there and watch the ball fly over my head' Cort. Eugh.

Rob Kelly didnt do a bad job considering the dire straits we were in financially at the time. I seem to remember he signed Matty Fryatt aswell. Certainly no hatred here.

Martin Allen got some good results in his short time in charge. Impossible to judge as he wasnt there long enough, and as a fan i look at results, not hearsay.

Gary Megson. Well at least we were decent at the back, weren't we?

Ollie. Well, considering what he did at Plymouth and the results he has got at Blackpool, what on earth was he doing during his time with us. Would love to celebrate him as the rest of the football community (rightly) do, but what was he doing? Signed Steve Howard though. Big up for that.

The Awesome Nigel Fookin Pearson - Whatever we said, whatever we did, we didn't mean it, we just want you back for good. Best win percentage of any Leicester manager, Turned a team of Holloway's losers into a team of winners, and destroyed League One with time to spare. Took us to the Championship playoff semis against Cardiff, and if Yann had buried that penalty, we'd still be in the Prem (We'd have done Blackpool), The Thais would have pumped money in and more up and coming players would have been playing here amogst the elite. If you come back Nige, i promise to forgive you for selling Max Gradel for a Bus Ticket and a Porno mag.

Paulo Sousa. Tried Playing continental football in the Championship with blood and guts style players, that were abviously devastated that Pearson had gone. Signed Crap players, Pissed off Matty Fryatt to the point he didnt want to play for us anymore, and Jack Hobbs was never the same after either. He wasn't an arsehole, wasn't irresponsible, he tried his best, and unfortunately, he was shit.

Sven-Goran Eriksson. Did nothing wrong, i feel he would have got us promoted, put together a brand new team, and a brand new team takes more than 11 games to gel. Signed genuine quality, and the 0-3 against Millwall was a freak result. Was incensed by his removal, as i was when he was taken out of the England job by the newspaper witch-hunters.

???? Who's coming in then? I'm feeling a triumphan return, and sorry to the O'Neill boys, but it ain't happening. Only one man for the job. In Nige We Trust.

I sem to think that those opinions are based on facts. Opinions in which we are all entitled to.

Should've stuck with Milne instead, wonder how things could've turned out if the then-board had had as much patience as Manchester United's.

Check out the attendances in Milne's last season (several crowds below 8k for top-flight games) and you'll see why the board moved him "upstairs".

The Millwall defeat wasn't a "freak result". Reading and Bristol City (and more recently, Doncaster) proved that.
