One plane that resembles a yellow stunt bi-plane and another aircraft that could not be seen collided over Gartree road in Leicester this afternoon. An eyewitness said, "As we left the karting circuit we were asked to turn around by the police as the road was closed, when we went back the other way we saw the yellow plane laying in the road on its side with a wing completely missing" he continued, "Police, Fire and ambulance crews were soon on scene and the Air ambulance and Police helicopter was close behind, it was awful to witness, I cant believe the passengers from the yellow plane walked away from it, we were told that the others planes occupants weren't so lucky". Mike the Metal Ed Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 Leicester has an airport? A small five runway (including grass ones) aerodrome for light aircraft. http://g.co/maps/hyycc
Narborough_fox Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 My dad knew the person who died in the crash, I was only down there a couple of weeks back. Thoughts to family.
Saxondale Posted 20 December 2011 Posted 20 December 2011 By the sounds of it, the chap from LAC was taking off and the other aircraft had come from Nottingham Tollerton and was lining up for approach.
