The permission for expansion may have been given when the stadium was built in 2001-02.

When the Tigers built the Caterpillar Stand a couple of years ago, they also got permission to build new stands on the other 3 sides of the ground. But they haven't got round to doing it yet.

Planning permission only last three years, you have to start the works before that time or you will have to start the process again. However it takes around 8 weeks or so to get it. Can't see this 'big' news being anything to do with the expansion of the stadium.

I agree.

as mentioned you must start what is deemed as a considerable part of the works before the 3 years is up.

meaning the egg chasers must plan to at least dig new footings in for any new stands pretty soon if they don't want the expense of going through it again.

There was no planning permission made for expansion of the East Stand when the stadium was built I wish people would get past this rumour! It was public knowledge that the steel structure can be easily modified to allow extra tiers to be built that is all.
