jonlcfc1990 Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 The Van on the saff is pretty good and after the match when your walking away if you fancy a quick bite you can't go wrong. Never bought any food in the ground it's a rip off but I'd rather they have expensive food instead of an expensive Programme
jonthefox Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 A new burger can has opened on the corner of Saff lane and Aylestone road. They serve a wider range of stuff and about a quid cheaper than anywhere round the ground. We usually stop off there on the way in. Thats where i go. Bargain prices.
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 don't usually buy food in the stadium, too expensive and, well, basically shit! however, bought a cornish (trade descriptions here) pasty last night. the meat inside looked as if someone else had already chewed it. last food i bought there was a hot dog, asked for onions and she looked at me blankley, 'don't do onions' couldn't believe it, I'm sure they used to have onions. sometimes have a coffee to help sober up! wonder how we compare with other clubs generally? had a meat pie at hartlepool's ground some years ago and it was brilliant. long way to go for a pie though
Unabomber Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 I have never really seen the appeal of buying overpriced poor quality food at the football. I am able to go the 3 or so hours without eating and have something nice before or after.
seenitall Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 Very poor vegetarian choice, its almost like vegetarians aren't welcome at the ground! Chips would be good as well as being able to pull a pint quicker thAn 5 minutes. Also, less thick servers would help. In America, they bring beer and food to you while you are in your seat, couldn't happen in English football though, they'd rather make you neck your pint in 3 minutes so you don't get pissed and angry (wait a minute....)
Reynard Bleu Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 I don't buy any food from the ground or street sellers. I am no foodie snob but the stuff they all serve is awful and criminally expensive . Street food in the UK is generally crap, although there are some really good stalls in some town/city Markets, particularly Farmers markets.
Guest safetosurfthisbeach Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 I admit it - I am a foodie snob. Can't believe anyone buys the rubbish they sell in the ground, and the stuff they sell from vans outside is usually even worse. I would be prepared to pay more if they sold anything remotely edible. The club's assumption that football fans will only eat cheap rubbish is annoying. I agree with an earlier comment that the owners are missing an opportunity in not offering Thai food.

Football is not a cheap sport to follow We spend on tickets, travel, parking, programme so why do they think we want cheap food? Of course we would spend a quid or 2 more for better quality.
dannyjpage Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 Did anyone receive the email from the club to complete the survey and give your comments on food and half time entertainment? Hopefully they will listen and make some positive changes for next season. One of the questions was - what would we like in the areas in the concourses that were previously used for betting? I think the options were betting, merchandise stand or extra food sellers For experts in retail they are certainly missing a trick with these vacant areas
bluesbrothers Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 I'll have the occasional Balti Pie, and if im gonna have a drink there it's always the IPA - I didn't realise it was possible to water down something as crappy as Carlsberg, but they managed it. Might get the odd Singha when i'm feeling posh. The only thing i regularly buy is good old Bovril.
