Kitchandro Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 I'm still yet to hear anyone offer a convincing arguement as to why booing is productive. If you want to boo fine, but what is its purpose? To let the players know you are p***ed off, I think they probably know that. Doubt they care tbh. It's productive for themselves because people are angry and they are allowed to do what they like. I'm asking you, what difference does it make at this stage whether people boo or not?
Kitchandro Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 You don't have to applaud - walk out silently they'll get the message. What I don't get is one week fans are chanting 'There's only one Nigel Pearson' then the next 'Pearson Pearson sort it out' I left London Road yesterday frustrated by the performance, disappointed that yet again this season the players under performed, but I support and that's the key word, support, my club and those who are playing for it through good and bad times. I sing, cheer and applaud throughout the game, but ultimately will not boo - however, you have a right to do as you please, you pay good hard earned money like me and if you feel booing our team will ultimately improve team morale and performances then you are entitled to vent your anger in anyway. But we all know some people will applaud them as they come over. So they'll get the message that it's acceptable to play like that. TBH, I just think most of the players are shit so that's why I don't boo them, they aren't going to get any better just because they put in an extra '10 percent'.
MGLCFC Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 Is there a cut off point when booing becomes acceptable/unacceptable. If we loose the first two games next season do we start booing? Just a thought as I'm intrigued as to how long we give it before it's acceptable to boo?

Just a thought as I'm intrigued as to how long we give it before it's acceptable to boo? It's always acceptable to boo, you pay your money, you're not going to get chucked out for booing. Whether it's right or not is another matter. It's all very circumstantial though, isn't it? A short boo at the end when we lose generally means nothing. Prolonged boos at the end show dissatisfaction at the performance. You have to take into account the manner of the defeat, the context over the whole season and our expectations. Were you not pissed off after yesterday's defeat? Were you not angry and fed up? Did you not think 'it really isn't acceptable to be playing the way we are for so long this season'? The point is, instead of discussing our many failings as a team you're whinging about something that's pretty irrelevant. We booed, so what? They aren't going to get promoted, who gives a shit how they feel? It's how I feel that counts, it's my money and it's my team.
Salieri Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 This section of the forum is a joke at times like this, truly embarrassing.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 The performance wasn't a disgrace. It was a very open game and both sides had endless chances to score. Unfortunately for us we missed all of ours and P'boro scored through a wonder strike. Calling them disgraceful is very unfair, they really gave it everything today. Well that's total bollocks. Don't know where the bbc got their 23 shots from and 11 on target they must be having a laugh! We barely created anything clear cut for the whole game and Pearson is deluded if he thinks different. As for saying the lads 'gave it their all', well I think you are being incredibly generous. When your multi-million pound striker is stood on the half way line with his hands on his hips at 1-0 down in the last minute when we have the chance to put a free kick into their box I for one think there is a hell of a lot more they could be giving.
MGLCFC Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 To me hearing people constantly moaning, booing and being totally negative is whinging. Like I said, people pay their money, they are entitled to do as they please, but some of our supporters are so fickle that they only accept the good. In reply to your question - of course I was disappointed, angry and whatever other superlative you wish to use to describe an abject performance yesterday, but whinging is something I never do. I would also suggest that anyone who went yesterday and honestly felt that promotion hinged on yesterday's result were somewhat hopeful - the reality is that we haven't been good enough for most of the season and the real joke would have been watching us humiliated week in week out in the Prem, which no doubt would have led to booing every week.

Or he was ****ed due to running the whole length of the pitch to stop an attack! Forget that bit?
Guest BlueBrett Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 Or he was ****ed due to running the whole length of the pitch to stop an attack! Forget that bit? I don't give a shit if he is a bit tired! It's the last minute out of the only 90 minutes of work he has to do in the week. He makes 30 thousand pounds every 7 days. Tired or not he should be in there. I didn't see him puking with exhaustion did you? Plus it was our ****ing free kick I'm sure we could have given him a few seconds to move his lazy arse. I try to be supportive but I just feel like the guy is taking the piss out of us.

The whole lot if them are taking the piss not Beckford. The reaction to him not going up at the end is all a bit OTT. If it was anybody else apart from JB I don't think we would've seen this reaction!
chavdonk Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 Nigel has been at the club for a few months, picked up a squad that has one left winger, walking into a situation where everyone was crying out that we needed width, and gets slated for playing are only left winger? Dyer has been one of our best players in the last month or so, and Nigel did try and replace him in January but couldn't bring in Cameron Stewart or Robbie Brady, the winger situation is not in any way Nigel Pearson's fault! He did have a 30 day transfer window to address this tbf..... and he didn't so he should rightly so take the slack for not sorting this problem out... thats his job
