Expectation is our worst enemy.

But who created that expectation? Was it the club? The fans? Or the media? I think that as fans we are generally a down to earth bunch and don't have delusions of grandeur, well, didn't until this season. For some reason we let the exaggerated transfer fees being reported by the media, and the hype around the club, carry us all away with the idea we would walk this league, this permeated into the club, the fans, the players, the staff, but it was never going to work like that, that is not how you get out of the championship, nobody gets out on reputation alone.

We failed at the start to get a foothold in the league and impose ourselves on the league, we didn't do what you need to do, which is create a good team spirit a good work ethic and a bit of consistency. What has raised expectations since the start of the season has been some of the performances, we can beat anyone in this league and some in the league above, but we are also capable of losing to anyone in the league which to me says it is not an ability problem, but a mental problem.

With the season as it is and the decent cup run coupled with injuries and suspensions we are having to spend too much time and energy changing and adapting that we haven't had time to get our ship in order. I am confident that preseason we will do that as long as we can focus on the football and not get caught up in the hype, as long as we establish next season as one of progression not instant success we will get there.

In my opinion it was definitely over hyped by the club, manager and players, many acting like going up was a mere foregone conclusion but they have just not backed it up. In fact even more than that have barely looked like thay have the stomach for a fight except with the manager.

We must play lots better away then with less fans there so less expectation. Oh hang on havent we won 1 drew 1 and lost 5 of our last 7 away league games ? The trouble is players not giving it there all, busting a gut & playing like there livelihoods depended on it. Too many are just going thru the motions of being a professional footballer. Being crap and trying I can take, having ability but playing at 75 percent is unforgiveable.

A cracking point was made to me yesterday.

Why would the squad want to put themselves out of a job by getting promoted?

With the Thai owners would the playing squad be good enough at the moment? Nope.

If they did get promoted then there'd be massive changes.

Got it in one - certain players are in a comfort zone at this club and will resist anyone who tries to move them out of it.

They know they're not good enough for the top flight, but they'll undermine and isolate those who might be, in order to protect their positions.

That is true to an extent, but one thing to bear in mind is we played 9 games in March and some players played all of them, there is going to be some fatigue kicking in, with injuries and suspensions and retirements we actually have a pretty small squad at the moment. I would say against Forest from what I saw on the stream and from listening to the Peterbrough match we were tired and unable to raise or game, personally I think that is understandable and I hope a week off will allow us to come at Doncaster revitalised.

Fatigue and tiredness doesn't make you pull out of a tackle that is lack of commitment and not giving 100 percent for the cause, which is why we are where we are in the league .

What is the odds that they will get rid of NP like they did with Sven..

Actually when I'm knackered playing football the last thing I want to do is fly into a tackle because I know my timing is off and I will at best give away a free-kick at worst break a leg, when you are running on fumes it is very difficult to play to the level that you normally can because it feels like you are a secind behind everything.

Not saying that is the cause of all our problems but come on 9 games in one month:

That is a hell of a schedule, like I say it is no excuse for the poor results at the start of it, but any one playing all those games (SSL, Morgan, Konch, Nugent, Dyer, Beckford) is going to be feeling it.
