Anish Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 So far so good, as others have mentioned. One thing that has impressed me is the style of football that we now try to play, and the old mentality of 'hoof' has gone We still need to stop leaking sloppy goals before I get carried away with Levein, because that was a constant problem last season.
Durnerz Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 I'm happy, but Levein can only do so much, its up to the players now to gel and to perform. Also the fans need to get behind the team more so than they did last season, especially at home.
Scow Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 I like the way he's gone about reducing the average age of the squad. We should have a lot more energy and pace in to the side next season, which may give us the edge in turning likely draws in to victories. However, a number of players are relatively unknown, and we don't know how they'll adapt to this division. The likes of Sylla, Douglas, Kisnorbo and to a lesser extent de Vries have played all their football in the SPL. Those four will most likely be regulars next season, which almost comprises half of the team. Lets hope they adapt to the style of play in this division as quickly as possible. Saying that, I believe the likes of Maybury, McCarthy, Hughes, Williams and Connolly are certainly players that the top teams in the division wouldn't mind having in their squad. So, I'm quietly confident that we'll do well - Realistically, I think outside the play-offs is where we'll finish, but my expectations may change depending on the next three signings.
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 Could be new Alex Fergsoun he was in same sitatioun when he took over at Man Utd
a circus of imbeciles Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 Ask us again at the end of next season 134446 Levein's the best thing to happen to our football club since MON and before that, Matt Gillies and David Gibson in the 60's. The club should love him, cherish him and make sure he's so happy at the club that he never wants to leave. Especially now that he's all-but-signed a forward!!! 134452 You forget Bloomfield and that great Scot with the same idea as CL, Jock Wallace! Also what Brian Little did with a team of donkeys was pretty remarkable, set us up for the M O'N days, he did.

To a great extent the success of a football club is measured in its assets. The forum reckon City's players to be worth £3-£3.5 million right now. I reckon it will be £4.5/£5m by Christmas and perhaps £6/7m if we get promotion. The man is organised and seems to have got his side together in good time to gel as a unit which is another rare but important bonus at City.
LoneWolf Posted 11 July 2005 Posted 11 July 2005 Thumbs Up!! hes doing a MON, getting players that arent known and turning them into legends at leicester as they will be here for a long time!!
supedaj Posted 11 July 2005 Posted 11 July 2005 Turning unknowns into legends is not an easy task. MON had a good few players when he arrived, several players were very good at this level and had tasted premiership life - Walshie, Grayson, Whitlow, Parker, etc. Walshie was always a die hard (as was Whitlow) and Parker always used to pull strings in midfield. This made it a tad easier for MON to blood new people into the team, and luckily it paid off. With CL the task is much harder as he's literally building from scratch, a team of unknowns who havent any Championship experience (let alone premiership quality). So whilst I am positive about CL's dealings and his management skills, people should look at the big picture before comparing with what MON did.. I think he is doing a very good job and the transformation of the squad is definitely a positive one. As other posts in this forum detail, we definitely need a reality check to ensure we dont expect too much from them this season. Whilst I am a true blue at heart (and would be overjoyed at reaching the playoffs) we mustnt throw our toys out of our prams if we dont reach the top 2. CLs appointment is a very good one, and on which will give us success and stability over the long term..
Alexikokopops Posted 11 July 2005 Posted 11 July 2005 So far so good.I like his ideas and plans, the club is being managed the right way for once. I just hope he can get things right because he is definately the man for the job. 134514 Agreed.
