Haydos Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Jess Ennis doing us proud early on in the 100m hurdles. 1st place with a new WR. Stadium was rocking.
Leicester_Numan Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Great start for Jessica but she needs to do it because her javelin is still seriously weak in comparison to her main challengers. On that point, why the hell isn't she working with Steve Backley or even Fatima Whitbread to improve her technique? Never undertood why she doesn't use an individual coach for a while to improve her weaker events
Guest Bilo Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 I think Ennis was pretty close to matching the British record for the 110m hurdles as a standalone event, ridiculous from a heptathlete. Her javelin isn't the best but she has improved her technique and her throws are consistently improving. It's her weakest event, but she's strong enough in most of the other six to make up the gap.

I know they are but if anything will cost her the gold it'll be the javelin. 1 weak event means she has to be at her best in the other 6, and if she isn't......
kingfox Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Katarina Johnson-Thompson is pretty decent. Nice looking girl aswell

That's a man's sport! Not only a British Record for the individual 100M hurdles, more amazing is that, if she had run that time in the Beijing 100M hurdles final, she would have won gold! She should double up!
Haydos Posted 3 August 2012 Author Posted 3 August 2012 British record as you'll see below. She got the Heptathlon WR for hurdles didn't she? Also beat the British record for the stand-alone hurdles event?
AoWW Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Jessica Really? I don't think you've ever mentioned her before.

You're right, her javelin has definitely got a lot better. Missed her winning the gold as I was watching the football, wish I hadn't bothered now. I've just seen her on the highlights
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Ennis not going to run the 100m hurdles http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19134500#asset
