radio leicester call ins after the game

NP can win - he gets to go home with a healthy bank balance, to his family, probably to a nice evening out with his missus .... chances are these people have very little in life if they feel the need to go on air in the first place, let alone to grumble ! Sadly, one day, most of us might be there. Live and let live ..... as John Lennon once sang, "ah, look at all the lonely people ...." If you listen to RL phone-in's hoping for reasoned debate, you're looking in the wrong place, I think ?

Best not look on here then either.  :D :D

There is no place for a sane discussion for all things LCFC related unfortunately!

The losers only call in cos they have nothing better to do, whilst most of us normal people go to the pub after the game and celebrate a decent win.

I never listen to them, makes me angry! there's always a woman who's not listened/watched the game who seems to know it the square root of fvck all!

Fixed.

I know what you mean - I'm surprised some of the callers can operate a telephone at all judging by their comments.

They're grumpy old farts with nothing better to do. The best ones are when they say "I wasn't at the match today but [such-and-such] sounded awful today, we shouldn't have signed him" - what a great opinion

My favourite was last season, some guy rung in and said, "I haven't been to a game since last Easter, but I thought we were rubbish blah blah blah". I couldn't believe it!

I do quite like the phone in though, I have a two hour drive home after games and usual have RL signal for an hour or so. It really passes the time marvelling at the stupidity of some of our fans,

Presumably their carers put the number on speed dial.

Years and years ago, there used to be a presenter on Red Rose Radio in Lancashire called Alan Beswick (??) who used to do just that. Basically, whatever people rang in with he would tell them they were wrong and argue the opposite. I seem to recall he periodically got banned by his own station as some of it was a bit near-the-knuckle for the late eighties / early nineties, but it was compelling listening. He reduced the drunks and the fruit-cakes to tears on occasion. Anyone else ever hear any it or know what happened to him ?????

Tune into Radio Manchester and the chances are you'll hear the unmistakable voice of Alan Beswick - Breakfast with Beswick is a regular feature - but also presents other programmes during the day. As for content, nothing changes - same Alan Beswick, same format, same compelling listening!
