Daggers Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 There's meant to be an Olympics in the UK sometime soon - anyone know when it starts as I fancy getting some tickets for it?

They don't start til 1948 , Look out for a young filly called Fanny Blankers . She's a quick lass and manages to do the housework in between races

skinnydipper Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Enjoyed the Olympics. Wasn't too fussed about the Paralympics. Glad it's all over now so we can get on with the footie season.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Channel 4's coverage was awful and didn't do it justice, too much waffle between pundits who just looked bored to be there (especially the posh woman in the afternoons) and of course all the adverts in between. And for some reason I got sick of hearing the words C4 Para 2, C4 Para 1 as if they'd we're trying to make the channels names sound like the Classifications of the sports themselves. C4, Paralympics 1, Paralympics 2 would have done for me thanks. Don't know why but that really ground my gears!! I'll be honest, I had hardly watched Paralympic sports before and didn't watch anything like the same amount as I did Olympics either, mainly because I took way too much time off when the Olympics was on and I couldn't justify doing it again. I certainly didn't find it boring though, entertainment wise The actual competition was pretty close for me. The Last Leg was good.

I watched it quite a bit and your right there, the only exception being Claire Balding and Ade (the ex basketball player) on the evening show thought they were quite good, decent balance of banter and insight
