As most of you will agree Connolly would have been vital this year for our promotion push. But i have spoken to an old coach of mine who is now at the academy. I saw him at the Celtic match in the Club lounge and he told me that Connolly is not happy at Leveins lack of progress in the transfer market and believes we are a long way off of having a squad capable of competing for promotion. This would make sense as to why Connolly wasnt in the squad on Tuesday night. He is reported to have been injured but i am now in the know that Southampton are said to be interested in him and after the departure of Crouch and several other strikers, it is all now seemingly coming together.I would be devastated to see him go and anything less than 1.5million is a shocking peice of business by CL. :( Dont Go Connolly!! 141485[/snapback] I'm sorry but that doesn't ring true, when Connolly joined LCFC he knew we didn't have any money and what sort of players we could afford so why would he criticise CL's 'progress' he's signed more than most, the only one outstanding, after today's signing is a striker - why would that bother Connolly if it's delayed or didn't happen for that matter he'd be more certain of his starting place. As for building a promotion side, what a load of bollocks what would Connolly know about such a thingl has he got a crystal ball - I would say we resemble last years, successful Sunderland approach to transfers than our own MA's abject failure approach. This isn't to say he hasn't criticised CL or wants to leave but the reasons given are somewhat fanciful, far fetched or totally misunderstood..

He is set to train with Leicester when they return for pre season training after he made a phone call to Rob Kelly who was the first team coach at Blackburn. Talks are progressing. Bothroyd is eager to join as he still has a house in the Midlands and sees Leicester as the ideal club to resurrect his faltering career. This is almost certain to happen.
