gotwood Posted 10 May 2013 Share Posted 10 May 2013 I think were using him wrong if you look at his goals he seems to turn off the defender and shoot or score with his head. We seem to have started using him as a target man and not playing it into his feet. This is spot on, I've been a fan of him for years and have followed him closely at club and country. People think due to his size that he is a target man, but his best game is a ball at feet. It's plain to see from when he first came here, his link up play with nuge was excellent! Could it even be that defenders assume he will be used as a target man. And then get caught out when he receives it at his feet? Also think he's injured as well, his closing down is normally great as well he just doesn't seem mobile at the moment. Will be something to watch come end of season. Any other striker would have shot and possibly had it blocked it was quality what he did it showed although maybe injured he still has the ability and awareness to impact the game.
