DJ Barry Hammond Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Is this season a failure? Well, considering where we were come the half way point and how poor some of the form around us was as well for the same period (Palace 1 win in 10i believe?) to finish 6th and a distant way off automatic promotion would be cause to say this season is failure. BUT, does that mean you change the manager? From what I've seen this season (not a great amount) the players are behind and believe in the setup and so to carry on with the current management might be a route to sucess. Pearson's a strong character and I think he can use the pain of today to drive the players forward to achieving the ultimate goal next season. The only real reason to change managers would be if the players were not playing to plan, for the manager and I don't think this is the case.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 You're right it was a meaningless rallying cry! Let's hope we earn promotion next year. And I'm obviously right that you are anal and pedantic, and yes, let's hope we win promotion next year!
footballfox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 So are Leeds, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Derby, Forest, Wolves... If we've failed it's by less of a margin than others.

Corky Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 I think total failure would've been missing out on the play-offs at all, so we avoided that. Failing to get promotion is slightly lower on the scale, so it has been a failure in that regard. The reality is that we haven't gone up, wasted a great chance before this game to avoid all the play-off situations and are facing another year in this division. God it's depressing.
