TrentFox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 The reality for me is that the club with the best supporters lost. The club with the best football won. Sadly, nothing counts against promotion except football results. Can NP get rid of the pain we all feel right now by getting us promoted next season ? Who knows. For me, no. I don't think so. Would I be disappointed to find him still here in July ? Not really - I just think it will mean a replay of this season. That's not the end of the world. I'd just rather we were more ambitious. There is as much risk in sticking with NP as there is in getting rid. Nothing comes with a guarantee.

fleckneymike Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 They are/were a lot better than us. The rights on wrongs of the loan system are immaterial. Col is correct that we have failed. We've spent a bloody fortune on failing too.
whoareyaaa Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Lennon Really? Why would you want an unproven manager here, fair enough hes done well at Celtic but my sister could do well there.
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 I'm still waiting for Col's definitive list of (realistic) replacements... This is not about who Pearson should be replaced with. It's about being honest and stating its another failed season, given the aim. Remember why I suggested you reminded me of Salieri?
tickler28 Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Am afraid the reality is this is a tough league to get out of setting the target of promotion is all well and good but you are pretty much setting yourself up to fall
kingfox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Wanting to + rep your posts is so strange, I'm really glad that decision is out of my hands. Just glad you agree for once. I will take it as an invisible rep. I ain't that bad
ADK Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 We'll boss this league if we keep our strong core of players
katieakita Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Its a fake, that photo looks photoshopped, no way does that cap look real on that bloke on the front Is Lennon about 7ft.
tickler28 Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 If we all set such high targets 90% us of would be sacked every year!!!
Salieri Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 This is not about who Pearson should be replaced with. It's about being honest and stating its another failed season, given the aim. Remember why I suggested you reminded me of Salieri? So, what's your point? If you think he's up to the job and don't want him replaced that is. You are the master of hindsight and stating the bloody obvious.
Deucalion Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Apart from Cardiff, Hull and An Other, all teams have failed in the Championship this season. Of course Pearson is going to state promotion is the goal this season. I would be very surprised if the manager of Barnsley, Peterborough and many others did not make the same statement. But, unfortunately, not many clubs actually go on and achieve it. Once again it isn't our year. Pearson is still our most successful manager since Adams though. That is reality.

No they haven't, the likes of Barnsley and Charlton have succeeded because they had lower expectations. We've failed because promotion was the aim.

Do you really think that Ferguson aimed for and stated that Peterborough were gonna get promoted? And were one of the favourites for promotion? C'mon...
GorlestonFox Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Now is not the time to make sweeping statements or decisions. Everyone needs a break including the fans, in a few days things will be clearer and evaluated with a more level head. Perfect
jamesmilner Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 We'll boss this league if we keep our strong core of players QPR will boss the league next year .
Monsell1976 Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 The reality is we are not good enough for promotion, throughout the playing side of the club, the management, and a squad as a whole, that can be said now because the season has played out. We have an average manager, with an average squad, and until this is rectified we will continue to have average seasons. The other reality is we are financially in a lot of debt, with not looking any nearer reaching the premier league, how long will the owners want to hang around, if we continue with the average finishes maybe another season or two. I think we may struggle for promotion with the new financial restrictions, as all relegated clubs from the premier league are going to have a massive financial advantage, due to massive parachute payments. The reality doesn't sound as nice as the dream, and what we all wish for.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 IMO NP Has had money and time, dont think he is capable of getting us in the prem,a change is needed badly, my choice would be RDM get him in now to give him as much time as possible for next season.

Remember why I suggested you reminded me of Salieri? I understand what you're saying bud, however it really is about that because if it is failure and the remit was to go up that is the question surely? Who realistically is out there is a genuine concern as should be,can NP do it next season? I personally am finding the evaluation very tough between stability, young talented squad and a manager replacement who can improve the squad and finish the job. I unashamedly have splinters over this and would not like to call it if I were the owners. I actually believe the owners will pull the trigger if they think they can get or have that man lined up. If they decide to stick then I hope NP can improve on the obvious flaws he has and take our great club and fans back where we belong!

Why do we have a divine right to be in the Premiership?
Bluetintedspecs Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Top post mate And I'm genuinely sorry your optimism didnt quite get there... Very very nearly... Any Leicester fan wants the same and will today be gutted, we will dust ourselves down and be back next seson!
Bluetintedspecs Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Why do we "belong" in the Premiership? Why do we have a divine right to be in the Premiership? Hardly think today is the time to be anal and pedantic! It's a figure of speach/rallying cry after a bitterly disappointing day! If you don't get that then
