As all the players had been chatting/practicing pens this week it was probably arranged before the game Knocky would take a pen if Wood was off the pitch, in hindsight I was slightly disappointed we didn't take our time over such an important kick, it seemed Knocky just picked up the ball and rushed things. anyway its done now Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MC Prussian Posted 13 May 2013 Share Posted 13 May 2013 Knockaert's mistake was eyeing for the (his) right hand side for the penalty - I think you can make that out in the replay. I bet Almunia saw that and just went for that option. What you want to do is not giving the opposing goalkeeper whatever indication where you'll be shooting. Obviously, penalties are always a gamble.
