Would you like the chance to represent Leicester City Football Club while receiving a first class education?

If you are aged between 16 and 18 then you can, as part of an exciting and unique two-year Futsal Education Scholarship through The Football League Trust in partnership with TVS, who provide learning opportunities for young people through sport.

Open to boys and girls, learners will be given the opportunity to compete for Leicester City in The Football League Trust Futsal League against the likes of West Bromwich Albion, Leeds United, Derby County, Crystal Palace and dozens more.

Alongside this, learners taking part in the scholarship, which is based at the Club’s King Power Stadium, will be participating in a full-time education package, which includes:

-           BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, worth up to three A-Levels

-           Opportunity for vocational qualifications, such as Level 1 and 2 Football Coaching and Level 1 Futsal Coaching

-           Opportunity to gain Level 1 Futsal Refereeing qualification

So whether you want to open the door to university, or careers in coaching and refereeing, a Futsal Education Scholarship with Leicester City Football Club could be the right option for you.

Leicester City’s Community Director, Mick King, said of the scholarship, which is part of the FA’s strategy to develop Futsal: “This is an exciting opportunity for school leavers to represent LCFC in a national Futsal league while continuing their education in BTEC Sports Studies.

“They will be coached by our Academy coaches and will also be training up as football coaches to represent the Club’s charitable trust within the community.”

A special recruitment day is also set to take place at the Club’s Belvoir Drive Training Facility between 4pm and 6pm on Monday 24 June, giving those interested in the scholarship an opportunity to showcase their talents and experience the same facilities as Nigel Pearson’s first-team squad.

Throughout the two-year course, learners will have the chance to train for up to eight hours a week under the tutelage of Adam Martin, who has an Academy coaching background, with fortnightly fixtures to take place against other teams representing professional clubs in The Football League Trust Futsal League.

Further opportunities to take part in friendly 11-a-side fixtures will also available to learners throughout the academic year alongside their studies, as they are encouraged to harness their educational potential through the scholarship, which is a first for Leicester City Football Club.
