If only the creators of that site would spend as much effort looking for work, rather than writing about ways to avoid it.

lol

It says a lot about the way society is going, welfare is actually being classed as a right now among a growing number of people, along with civil rights, human rights and gay rights etc.

I thnk we'll see a time where people are marching for the right to have a lifestyle funded by a givernment despite the intention of contributing nothing. Key times ahead to make sure this doesn't happen.

What makes you think they are unemployed just because they claim benefits?

There are many people in jobs campaigning for the vulnerable. Some may even be Tories.

Put east midlands on now

How does having more bedrooms than you need make you vulnerable?

it sounds to me as they are campaigning for self gain, to get as much out of the system as they can without putting anything in.

Just listen to this nonsense on the TV now.

"My son comes home from Uni twice a year to stay"

They actually think the taxpayer should pay for a room all year round as another adult is going to pop in and stay for 4-5 weeks. Two kids at Uni living away? Well here's a 4 bedroom house courtesy of the taxpayer, you clearly need it.

Baffling stuff. How can anyone defend this?

"welfare rites" lol

I'm pretty sure it's intentional and not a spelling mistake .

It's a homophone isn't it ?

They are using the normal term welfare rights , but substituting "writes" because it a template letter writing service.

Lots of businesses etc do similar things,  eg hairdressers are sometimes called things like "curl up and dye"  , or a fish and chip shop might be called "john's plaice" etc etc

Maybe there's an element of truth in that , but  politicians could spend more time and effort looking for real solutions to the problems the country is facing and not kicking the weakest and most vulnerable especially as they don't actually seem to be saving anything more than peanuts once the administration costs ATOS and Capita are counted.  .

How is disincentivising hand out culture not a real solution to the problem of welfare dependency?

its only a welfare dependency problem when the tories are in power , when labour are in power it's a shite government not providing the jobs

Not really.

When Labour are in power you just dont hear from them as Labour love keeping them there, pay them what they want and watch the votes roll in.

What we need is to focus on bridging the skills gap between the unemployed and the jobs that are available.

Yep.

No chance of that though when some dont want to work and we actually have politicians prepared to let them rot for their own benefit.

the real problem is that there are a large number of people who are fit to work, but have no intention of doing so as they can rely of handouts from the taxpayer.  any effort to address this by any government should be applauded.

when the tories are the opposition , the lack of jobs and unemployment  is due to the government policies

More people are in work than ever before though. Welfare dependency is decreasing. You're trying to side step the issue by talking about politics rather than the issue itself. Which is a bit hypocritical given you're accusing the government of not tackling the issue.

Not really, look at the job market now, anyone can get a position. If you arent working now.

Those ads came out after Gordon Brown had been in a while, private sector jobs being crushed while he kept creating more in the public sector to try and buy more votes.
