Come on lets not go down the Rincewind "A person I know has AIDS/cant work because hes got a bad back/his shed has ben hit by bedroom tax/his pet snail needs looking after side of debate.

The figures are all there, more people are working than ever, the agencies are as busy as ever, even the Co-op here has adverts all over the walls.

if you wanna believe the figures fine , but they're bolstered and manipulated by bullshite statistics

there are half a million job vacancies and at least 3 million job seekers

even i can see that's not a job for everyone  :)

no i'm not , i'm just trying to point out how the unemployed are depicted . victims when in opposition . problem when in power

You said politicians should spend more time trying to find solutions instead of "kicking the weakest". I pointed out how the tories are in the process of putting in place a successful solution. You started whinging about some campaign they did when they weren't even in power.

Yes I believe the figures, more people are in work that ever before, something not even disputed by the opposition.

Of course we wont have a job for everyone, even if we did some would stil rather sit on their backside or try and make out they have depression or something to make sure they don't have to do it.

it's not a solution though , it's just a stupid politically motivated exercise in keeping the scum down . in the same way closing the mines wasn't about saving money or been good for the long term health of the nation.

Of course it's a solution. The problem is too many people being too comfortable living on hand outs, the solution is to reduce hand outs to make being on themless comfortable and thus incentivise people to get back to work. It isn't a solution you're in favour of, clearly, but it's still a solution and one that is proving to work.

There you go again , :D

Theres half a million vacancies , 3 million ( at least) unemployed , how the fook can that be a job for anyone who wants one , and why have the very same people who were previously depicted as victims of failed labour policies now layabouts not wanting work ?

Did 2 MILLION + magically transform from desperate jobseekers into scrounging layabouts the minute Cameron was elected ,

there really isn't jobs for everyone,  it's a scam :)

Because every single day loads of new jobs become available.

Half of your so called unemployed are people like White Dee who have mo interest in applying as you'll pay for them to sit on their arse.

and you accuse me of using " i know this  bloke " reasoning  lol

edit;

and even if this is ridiculous plucked out the air guesstimation is true it still leaves 1 and half million chasing a half million jobs.

that leaves 2 out of 3  people who are trying but unsuccessfully getting a job

If you really don't think a significant proportion of that 3 million aren't actively looking for work then we'll just have to leave it there.

No one is blaming the poor, it's quite clearly labour's fault. However isn't it possible that living amongst people like these means you can make your own mind up without the news?

As opposed to rich people telling poor people to blame middle class people for their own inabilities.

Think I prefer what's written on the wall, least that holds some moral fibre.

Of course there are some scroungers , but no more than there were before (% wise )

the point i'm trying to make ( pretty unsuccessfully) is that there isn't enough jobs for all those that really really want and desperately need work ,

But this government is using carpet bombing techniques on all the unemployed

There are definitely more after Gordon Brown's tenure. He actively sought to get as many people dependent on the state as possible at whatever cost to try and cling onto power.

Do you really , i mean  really really believe that ? Gordon Brown intended to turn all the desperate job seekers into wet nursed layabouts ????

As you said yourself  in a previous post , we might as well leave it there , believe what you wanna believe matt

Absolutely, as many dependant on the state as possible.

In his last six months in charge we lost 100k private sector jobs and he still created 30k more public sector jobs despite the countries financial state.

Draining the productive sector of society for the benefit of himself.

Fortunately even a vast percentage of the desperate saw what he was doing and didn't fall for it.

Whether by accident or design that's what happened. The welfare state expanded to such a level that you could get Family Tax credit on a joint income of £50,000, an extra 900,000 put on the public payroll meant that hundreds of thousands more people depended on the govt for their income and Labour were never shy about telling you that you wouldn't get it if you voted Tory.

ah , by being "reliant on the state" , you mean Gordon was getting the masses "reliant on working for the state".

i thought you meant "reliant on state benefits".( which is what we were talking about at the time)

While this may be true , and yes it does seem to have happened that more people were employed in these jobs than previously , it still means that most people will work if the job is available to them rather than laze about smokin anna drinkin anna shaggin., you were implying that people won't take jobs regardless and were intent on living on benefits

But i really must leave it here as i'm supposed to be fookin retired and enjoying a life of leisure now , not spending hours trying to convince dyed in the wool tories about stuff i've got no chance of doing  :D

Great news and a huge victory for common sense.

http://news.sky.com/story/1215128/benefits-legal-challenges-denied-by-court

Five disabled tenants have lost their Court of Appeal bid to have the Government's so-called "bedroom tax" declared unlawful.

The court also turned down two lone parents' challenge to the legality of the Government's benefit cap, rejecting claims its impact on vulnerable families violates human rights laws and the common law.

Judges dismissed accusations that the bedroom tax unlawfully discriminates against the disabled.
