indierich06 Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Right, so my girlfriend has gone to Majorca for a week with a couple of girls she works with. I'm on Three, she's on EE - am I going to pay through the nose if I call/text her while she's away? I know she'll have to pay a lot for calls or texts back to the UK, but it seems to be a bit of a grey area as to whether I would have to. I've read some conflicting stuff that says as long as the call is to a UK number, it'll come out of my monthly allowance, even if the UK number is abroad. I've also read some stuff that says there will be some hefty charges for calling/texting. Anyone got any definitive answers? Obviously, I don't mind paying, but I'll limit the texting and stuff if it's gonna cost mega money. The poor girl's missing me loads though (and who could blame her? ) so she's been texting me a bit already. Really don't want a ridiculous phone bill!
indierich06 Posted 15 July 2013 Author Posted 15 July 2013 BTW - I've already called her once and text her a few times, but there are no charges showing up on my Three account either, which is perplexing if it actually does cost extra to text or call a UK number abroad.
Jimothy Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 I was seeing a girl a few months back, all went tits up in the end but the less said about that the better. Anyway she'd booked to go Jamaica long before we met, and she called me from there a couple of times and I called her a couple of time, each conversation lasting at least an hour. Also sent a lot of texts. My phone bill didn't increase, hers went up a couple of hundred quid. We're on different networks too. So I'd say you're safe, but she's not.

Excellent, as long as she's footing the bill! Haha. I think I'll call Three a bit later on to be on the safe side.
MooseBreath Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Are you simply unable to cope without being in constant communication with her or something? Let her call you. Problem solved.

Jimothy Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Cheers for not contributing anything and being an arse as usual. Did you really expect anything different?
James. Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Have you phoned up Three? Giving MB the benefit of the doubt for a second (and maybe I give him too much credit) but his sarcastic response may have been rooted in confusion as to why you'd start a thread about this on a football forum instead of just asking the people who set your bill. The answer may well be different depending on the networks involved, the tariffs, etc so basing your actions on anecdotal evidence off here could be risky...

Customer service on Three is a bit hit and miss, I've tried to call a couple of times and I've been stuck in a queue for ages, and their website isn't much help either. I'll call later for a definitive answer, but I thought I'd chance my arm on here - this forum's got quite a wide variety of posters, so it can be quite handy for stuff like this.
indierich06 Posted 15 July 2013 Author Posted 15 July 2013 No probs champ Just doing my bit to prevent you from cock blocking the guy who is inevitably plowing your girlfriend's anus as we speak. If I wanted some shitty come back, I'd ask your mum to fart.
