Mack Posted 2 August 2013 Posted 2 August 2013 I was doing some work on a story of a player being loaned out from Parma earlier and I noticed the amount of players on their books is enormous. Take a look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parma_F.C. With recent goings on between Udinese, Granada and Watford etc, just what exactly is going on in Italian football?
whoareyaaa Posted 2 August 2013 Posted 2 August 2013 That is a lot of players must be something mafia related or giving there youngsters a chance. to develop.
StanSP Posted 2 August 2013 Posted 2 August 2013 There's a lot of co-ownership which goes on in Italy, too. By having a bigger 'roster' it gives them more of an opportunity to find someone special. You're more likely to find someone of good talent when there's more of a sample to choose from.
Asha Posted 2 August 2013 Posted 2 August 2013 Jesus Christ I thought their 'First Team Squad' was enormous and then I scrolled down!
Mack Posted 2 August 2013 Author Posted 2 August 2013 Where exactly does co ownership and all these loan players fit in with FFP? It seems like a scatter gun approach, and a business model that might actually work. If they develop into decent players you can keep them yourself or sell them for a profit, maybe a loan develops into an offer that makes a profit. It's an interesting way of going about it.
jonthefox Posted 2 August 2013 Posted 2 August 2013 I love the idea of this. In a not uncommon practice, the number 12 shirt has been reserved for the Parma fans, meaning no player is registered to play with that number on his kit for the club. The implication is that the supporters, particularly those of the famous Curva Nord, are the twelfth man.
