HitchinFox Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Venky's, the holding company of Blackburn (it owns 99.9 per cent of the club), has reported losses of £27m for the past year. Looking at their accounts, they spent £3.5m on agents' fees alone! FFP only comes into force for this season, so there will be no punishment as yet. However, I can't see them somehow managing to cut losses from £27m down to £8m to fit into the requirements by the end of this season. Us spending nowt on new players this summer, cutting the wage bill by getting rid of unwanted players AND still being top of the table (well, second) makes me very, very happy and proud of our club. Definitely heading the right direction. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/10681229.Venky_s_record_a___27m_loss/?ref=nt
BHAFC Braders Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 It's ridiculous how many clubs will be hit badly by this FFP when it comes in (unless the powers that be bottle it) We were losing roughly £8 million a year , however that's been drastically cut with staff sackings and pretty much everything else going up in price , BUT we have one of the highest attendances in the league and the AMEX is a money making machine on match days - yet we were bringing in left backs who are scared of footballs whilst other teams are spending fair amounts of cash . I'm sure I had a point here, but it's turned into more of a whinge.

When FFP settles and everyone gets to that same level playing field then you'll be pushing for Promotion whereas if you were still at the Withdean then there wouldn't be a hope in hell for you.
Super_horns Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 They'll have to sell Rhodes won't they...
MPH Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 They'll have to sell Rhodes won't they...will be interesting to see if a prem team will want to take a punt on him...because no champ team will touch him...

That's the hope providing clubs who fail to get themselves in check with it get punished I guess , to be honest by now if we were still at Withdean ... we'd probably wouldn't be here , Blue Square at best , we were losing at least half a million pound a season in just renting Withdean. Have to wait and see I guess , could make the next few transfer windows pretty interesting at least !
