Grewks Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Personally think we need to look at changing it around. It is no coincidence that we often struggle to win back to back games. We should pick players for the opposition and based on their own fitness, not just pick the same players every game, especially when dyer was evidently knackered yesterday and his lack of tracking his man cost us the first goal
EnglishOxide Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 It is no coincidence that we often struggle to win back to back games. My time machine worked! Its 2011 again! We have been stringing wins together since Pearsons return (aside from THAT bad run). His consistent formation and selection is the reason for our relative success. He has mixed the formation up a bit more this season with some success. But changing it every week and relative to the opposition has never worked for any team.
beemeroo Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 It is no coincidence that we often struggle to win back to back games. All of the games we've won this year have been in back to back sequences. We haven't had a single win in isolation. We've won 2, 3, 2, 3 and 4 in a row - 14 out of our 14 wins. Our record so far this year suggests we actually struggle not to win back to back games.
Captain... Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I've been banging my drum about this one for a while, our poor runs last season game after playing the same 11 to the point of fatigue, the first 11 were all knackered, the fringe players weren't match fit. With Wood, Nuge and Vardy we have 3 class forwards that offer something different, but any combination of those 2 should cause any championship defence problems, King, Drinkwater, James, I've been saying for 2 seasons now, 3 players fairly similar in style and play, can play as a 3 or roatate as a midfield 2 and we don't lose anything, add Hammond to that to add a bit of cover if needed, we have many options and none of them weak. Wes, Was, Moore, can play as a back 3, or we can roatate as a back 2 (I know most people wouldn't dream of roatating Wes, captain and best player, but in some ways it is more important that we keep him fresh, and it also sets the example that not being in the starting line-up doesn't mean you are dropped). Out wide we have limited options, 2 full backs in RDL and Konch, 2 wide players Dyer and Knocky (even though Knocky isn't really a wide player) and it would be good to have more options, but there is no point bringing in a wide player if they are only going to get a kick if Knocky or Dyer are injured. For the nest game it really depends on RDL, if he isn't back then our only real option is 433, without playing anyone seriously out of position, which doesn't fill me with confidence.
Babylon Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 yeah we signed a 21 year old midfielder from Barrow to a 5 year deal whilst first teamers only get 3 year deals... Well he said it was a 5 year deal himself on twitter.
