The reason the links are to the Guardian is necause it is one of the few papers that highlight things to do with the vulnerable section of Britain.

The Mail only publishes them if it is negative like the one this week about a homeless man that ate an old man in france (?) This paints a bad picture on all other and stereotypes which suits its readers. I have not as far as i remember seen an article from them highlighting the affect cuts have on the lowest paid.

BTW the limit that councils can put families up in B&B is 5 weeks so if it is longer it is breaking the law and it should not be swept under the carpet and ignored.

And now all Daily Mail readers believe that homeless people eat people.

The Guardian publishes negative stories about people they don't like only it suits your prejudices to believe it's fair comment. All newspapers have an agenda. These constant complaints about the Mail are just an easy cop out by people who don't have the intelligence to make an argument of their own.

I wouldn't compare the Guardian with the Mail.

The Mirror would be a better example of a left wing tabloid.

Guardian is the leftist equivalent of the Telegraph and both tend to feature more intelligent articles ( although not always ).

Homeless man killed by Royal Family with financial support that came from white hetrosexual Telegraph and Mail reading right wing bankers after he had eaten Swan with half Polish half Romanian immigrant because he was turned down for a tin of beans personally by Michael Gove who along with Cameron had privatised food banks just before closing time on the stock market whilst they glugged champagne on the Ritz roof and tipped Caviar on disabled passers by who had just been declared fit for work and had their benefits cut, houses taken off them and carers ran over by an army on Boris bikes whilst having their wallets emptied by Nigel Farage who demanded it as part payment for the bedroom tax for his bank account in the Cayman Islands that came from his shares in Wonga.

I think DNO could pull that story off.

That's because left leaning people believe the only possible reason anyone can have to disagree with them is motivated by hate.Sceptical about immigration ,you must be a racist. Fed up with political correctness you must be homophobic. Believe in cutting  the deficit it's because you want to spite poor people. It's all so boring.

It has nothing to do with political leaning, and the whole left/right default positions on here are boring, the Mail is notorious for making sensationalist articles to attract people to their website, they print articles that are nothing more than hyperbole with scant regard for fact. They deliberately stoke up controversy on things like immigration and homosexuality because they know it will cause a buzz. They love their reputation as the most hated newspaper and profit from it by having the most visited news website, despite the fact there is very little news on there.

It isn't though is it? It's because its fashionable.

If it was about dressing hate up as news it would the Daily Express everyone would be on at. The Mail is aimed at Middle aged women and the lefts obsession with it is frankly bizarre.

The Express may be just as bad as the Mail, but the Mail markets itself much better on the net and feeds off the outrage and controversy.

This is not a "left" obsession, it's a reputation that they love and like to stoke up.

Since the beginning of the year our team has found over 600 articles related to homelessness, poverty, child abuse, domestic violence, the affects of cuts on lower waged families and mental health among others. These have come from various sources not all the Guardian or Independant They have mainly come from organisations working closest to the problems. If the Mail publishes news relating to the problems we will pass them on via our website and raDNO. We do not care where they come from. We are a News Agency committed to spread news in all areas that affect the most vulnerable in our society, raise awareness and dispell the myths and misconceptions that are put about and believed by certain sections of our society.

If we can open the eyes of just a few people then we have succeeded.

Like reporting a man being refused financial help and becoming homeless after leaving the army when in reality he ran a hotel?

Anyway try this link 12-4 tomorrow. Try it now if you are into Indian music.

Not sure of the agenda yet. There is a hour on disability issues with a guest coming in to talk about leicester;s music scene in days gone past. A hour about what is happening with prison reform and related issues including new inititives concerning media groups inside prisons. The last hour is just fun music and chat.

As some would say it's not all doom and gloom.

Boris

Boris was a strange looking creature

The Lord Mayor’s pride and joy

The Mayor was known by several names

But officially as John son of Roy.

The Mayor told the people

Boris was a stallion of the finest stock

The Mayor controlled the taxes

So the people dared not mock.

The Mayor believed in fairness for all

So he gave tax relief to the poor

But he said the super-rich were also in need

So he gave them more.

The annual Lord Mayor’s parade came around

And mounted on Boris the crowd the Mayor passed

Until a young voice was heard

‘That is no fine steed, it is merely an ass’.

The crowd was hushed into silence

Then began to laugh

The Mayor’s face grew crimson red

And could not control his wrath.

His anger changed to embarrassment

As he gripped tight on Boris’ rein

He turned and headed for the hills

And was never seen again.

The moral of this little tale

Is a lesson set true and fast

Is to think before you speak

Or you will look an ass.

Rincewind would you be happy if everyone that ever worked their way up to have millions in their bank, through sheer determination and utter hard work were to have their money taken from them and given to people that don't work, homeless people etc.Is it the fault of all the rich people in the world for all the miseries in the world?

Posted

No. Those that pay their taxes I have no problem with. A lot of homeless people do workThe definition of homeless does not neccessary mean sleeping in doorways.

Calls to Shelter from people in danger of losing their home have gone up to 500 per day in the last two years. Many are in low paid, part time or zero hours contracts;

They have seen prices rise while wages have remained the same. Even house owners are struggling;

So is it fair that people avoid taxes by moving money abroad robbing the IR of millions in revenue while low income familes have to pay the full whack.

I have relatives who have or have had businesses so I ave nothing against anyone that worls hard to improve their way of life.

Also if you were to cock things up at work costing your company thousands of pounds you might expect to be sacked not given a massive payoff and given a high salary position at another company;

There cannot be one rule for one and another for others.

Sermon over.
