Goals from Today!

I know that, had 2 seasons in the sticks myself albeit a good ten years ago. But saying "non keepers criticising keepers" was to me basically Nod saying that anyone but keepers can't criticise.

I'm sure if you ask Kasper he'll have said he should've saved the second.

Both points taken and understood. I agree that Kasper would say he should have saved it, but keeper's are notoriously self-critical and it'd be very odd if he didn't say this whatever the case. I think most goalkeepers view every goal conceded as an indictment against their own performance, I certainly did whenever I let one in (quite often). The cross shouldn't have been allowed in and the ball shouldn't be travelling 3 yards out across goal unchallenged.

Nothing worse than non-keepers criticising keepers.

From a keeper's point of view, there is nothing that Kasper could have done better for the goals tonight. If you want to look for fault, look at the failure of our defenders to close down quicker.

First goal was a rocket, and the second was put in to 'the corridor of doubt'. In other words anybody could have got a touch on it and that's what he was waiting for. It was just one of those that you see from time to time where the cross curls in and becomes a shot. He can't commit to it because then he'd be unable to react to any touches on the ball.

Nothing annoys me more in football than fans expecting too much of keepers. Literally no idea.

So your saying you should not try to save a shot on target just in case someone gets a deflection on it.

Stop talking drivel...we rarely critisize Kasper, he is a good keeper but to say he was not at fault for either goal is ludicrous.

I said in my original post that he was right to berate the defence. It was poor from them but equally as poor from Kasper.

It's done with now, time to move on and look to Brighton.

I think  Kasper  will be very  disappointed  with his conceded goals last night,

Beaten twice from the same position.

I'm sure he'll keep us in the game at points this month though

I'm a goalkeeper and what a load of bollocks you've just spouted. First one he got a hand on to that, if he can get a hand on to it he should be doing better. For the second goal, yes it was in the corridor of uncertainty but it's still got to be stopped, he didn't even attack it and he never even looked up to see if any Wednesday players were attacking it (because none were even thinking about it).

I think "load of bollocks" is a bit harsh and arguably more applicable to your contribution than his (though I wouldn't use it describe either). Contacting the ball with fingertips is not the same as getting a full hand in front of it as you will no doubt know. If you are a goalkeeper as you say you are then I expect you have been unfortunate enough to have a shot seemingly smashed through your hand leaving you incredulous as to how you didn't save it. When you're at full stretch you have hardly any chance of exerting upper body strength on the ball. Saving doesn't mean touching the ball.

And the second goal - are you watching the same thing that I am? 99% of the time you would expect that striker to be jumping in with his feet out trying to poke the ball in the net. That is almost always how those crosses end up. The time between knowing nobody was going to do that and diving was virtually non-existent. At which point could Kasper have dived in time for the unaltered path of the ball whilst being certain that nobody would come in and poke it into the vacant net he had left?

Well portions of the Leicester faithful have proven how clueless they are about goalkeepers several times in the recent past. Chanting Chris Weale's name and booing Ricardo while he was playing (and well aware that the boos were directed at him), and then wondering why the lad had no confidence and didn't even dare try to catch the ball. And all that only a short while after the same people were lambasting Weale for making some admittedly embarrassing individual errors. Fickle people with short memories.
