Katy Posted 9 August 2005 Posted 9 August 2005 So what we going to do about it? 153345 Dunno you tell me bud
rossporterlc Posted 9 August 2005 Posted 9 August 2005 so if a kid goes in a shop and steals a penny sweet..he/she is going to be killed because of it?
Thracian Posted 9 August 2005 Author Posted 9 August 2005 I have a solution for criminals. It's very, very simple.Any criminal who repeat offends, whether it's as petty as shoplifting or happy slapping is sentenced to death. This will stamp out wasters in this world who go through their life committing crime after crime and wasting tax payers money. These people have no place in society and serve no purpose what so ever. You often hear about people who have been in out and out prison all their life with various offences and then they go and kill somebody. Prison does re-abilitate some individuals but for some it only serves a period of time for them to become more demoralised and dangerous to this world. So although it might seem a little harsh, if anybody commits a crime then they have a chance to redeem themselves. If they then commit the same or a similar crime again then they are executed. This will save taxpayers money and prisons will be alot less over-crowded. My solution might have a few flaws and i'm sure there would be some people setting other people up and getting them wrongfully killed, but I think on the whole it would resolve quite alot of shit that happens in this country. 153061 It's ironic hearing you say that. Having, on this forum, predicted the first executions in the UK under Sharia law within a couple of decades it looks like the Muslims extremists might yet get us to build the framework of capital laws for them!!!. Personally I've never understood why it costs the nation a single penny to imprison criminals (it certainly wouldn't under my regime) but, as I've said before, killing people is one of the things we should be trying to put an end to because it only provokes retribution/manipulation and is inevitably unsafe or unfair. Ric Flair did touch on the most blatant drawback to his own idea and that is the "set up" because unscrupulous people have always taken advantage of capital punishment laws with relish. Imagine the Muslim fundamentalist clerics/religious dogmatists gaining a foothold on our councils as they undoubtedly have in some places. They show precious little tolerance with a benign set of laws in place so what would they be like with executioners around to keep busy. Now the anti-treason laws...I've long wondered why they've not been applied for so long - and retrospectively if necessary.
Guest Posted 9 August 2005 Posted 9 August 2005 You used to have to incur the cost of your own internment back in the 'olden days'. Perhaps this is worth considering before we start taking extreme measures.
lush Posted 9 August 2005 Posted 9 August 2005 Dunno you tell me bud 153347 Is that meant as in friend, or flower? Im not `allowed` to honestly answer that one, you`d better ask someone else. `ross`, dont be silly old crust. I would imagine the death penalty be of a sensible nature (as it is of serious importance), those that have reached the age of 21, be subject to that law.
lush Posted 10 August 2005 Posted 10 August 2005 d) I doubt you can now travel any main road in England without being monitored. 152620 Maybe we need more? "Detectives hunting sex attackers who raped three women and tried to abduct two more in a town centre. Women in Northampton have been warned not to go out alone after dark following the attacks, which happened over the past 10 days."
Ric Flair Posted 11 August 2005 Posted 11 August 2005 so if a kid goes in a shop and steals a penny sweet..he/she is going to be killed because of it? 153374 Only if they committed that crime or a similar crime again after being punished the first time. I've got no time for serial offenders in thsi world, even for smallish crimes. If people aren't capable of learning from their mistakes and being re-habilitated then they should be removed from this world.

Rincewind Posted 12 August 2005 Posted 12 August 2005 It would do away with the 12 point system on your driving as well. Another good thing, it would cut down the traffic congestion at rush hour. Also be careful when parking. A minute over the time twice and Rita the heavenly meter maid will be stamping your exit ticket.
