stockyfox Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 It has been said that a week can be a long time in politics but as at the time of posting this topic – 12-30 pm, Thursday 23rd Jan., the next 12,210 minutes will seem more like days as we wait with baited breath, desperately hoping that our squad remains intact in order to complete our assault on winning automatic promotion in May. We ask – will - or can - the Club can keep its nerve and resist the pressures from other clubs? How will the players react? Do we care? Yes of course we care! I personally don’t give a damn about Fulham or AC Milan or any other team for that matter. I only care about Leicester City. At the same time, I cannot begrudge players wanting to better themselves in the fickle world of obscene transfer fees and wages. But as I have said before, I have to accept that while owners, directors, managers and players will come and go, the only constant and consistent feature of the Club are the fans. For us, the fans, the prime issue is for the Club to secure promotion. Having achieved that, the next stage is to strengthen the squad, not only to survive in the PL but more so, to compete for honours and in that respect, I am greatly encouraged by the actions our Thai owners who in effectively wiping the slate clean, have, in my opinion, demonstrated their resolve that Leicester City should -and will be - one of the top teams in the country. Meanwhile, we wait.......
