Strikers and Defence looks good. If you say cause they midfield is inexperienced, well it cant be worse than the current midfield, can it? I wouldnt play it personally but it looks good
SilverFox Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 Won't happen but ....................................Walker.......................................... Makin.................Keown...............Dabizas...................Tiatto Canero..................Dawson.......Gemmill.............Wesolowski(sp) ............................Connolly......Dublin................................ Gemmill has shown me that he can pass the ball (WELL might I add) and has some bite, unlike some others I've seen, thats why I picked him Subs: Heath Gudjonnson Williams Wright Wilcox (leser of two evils, can cross a ball without it going out of play

Serves me right for being on the brew at lunchtime

If they wasnt here Wesolowski and O'Grady would definately play. And Graham aint going to get the team we have too many strikers as it is that aint getting in the first team nevermind younger strikers that wont get a look in under Micky.

From what I hear about some of these guys...especially the two I have included...they seem to be very good indeed. I don't see why they should not at least get a place on the bench!

Weso will defo be more involved with the reserves this year, mark my words! He's scored about 3 goals in 4 games for the ressies at the back end and start of this season. O'Grady does play, he was on the bench so that City could take a look at Paqcuette.

I wouldnt play it personally but it looks good 15049 Stearman would get destroyed, he's not strong or quick enough yet, O'Grady really has never impressed me much. The only one I would consider throwing in would be Dawson, he has the physical attributes to cope at this level now. I'm sure James W will be good, but he's 16 and tiny! We would do what Derby did if we played that team IMO.

SilverFox Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 All I was thinking of was something a little different...it can't be any worse than the current left hand side...Can it?

Stearman does seem quite pacey to me, you don't go on a run from well in your own half and take on several players and score if your generally slow. The strength does seem an issue, but plenty of players have weaknesses and Heath seems no bigger physically than Stearman. He hasn't even turned 17 yet, so I think it would be ridiculous to throw him in yet unless we need to. The odd cup appearance would be nice though, to see if he can already make the step up. Wesolowski is built like a brick shit house though, he might only be 5ft 5 but he's extremely stocky similar to Dawson.
Mark Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 All I was thinking of was something a little different...it can't be any worse than the current left hand side...Can it? 15071 No, and i thought your idea was fantastic

Unless they're are physically developed like Rooney and Huddlestone were at 16, it's a huge risk playing them all the time. Their joints get damaged and then they have injuries with them throughout their career.

He doesn't even get in the reserves really and wasn't one of Adams players he took to Finland or played against East Bengal. I wonder what's gone on? Because the speed he developed in 2002/03 season was all geared up for him to be the next wonderkid, do you think his attitude is wrong or what? He doesn't even play for Finland youths anymore does he? Not happy

They wont burn out or anything thats for sure  Get fed up, maybe. I would.

Working with Adams as a boss though i'd be forced to do that. He got called up to the Finland U-19's this week though, get back over there and sort himself out hopefully

How old is he now? I might pop out in Leicester and have a word with him.

I wish we'd send a few of our young ones out on loan for a few months in League 1/2/Conf or down to Hinckley! It would do them good, only a few months though not a whole season.
davieG Posted 26 August 2004 Posted 26 August 2004 With Scowcroft & Gillespie fit - OS Assuming Makin and Wilcox are OK - Merc I think this will be Micky's Team for Wolves Walker Canero Heath Dabizas Makin Scowcroft Gudjonssen Nalis Tiatto Dublin Connolly If Makins out Tiatto will drop to LB and in will come Wilcox, if fit or Stewart If Scowcrofts out, in will come Gillespie Subs - No Goalie, Keown, Gillespie(Blake), Wilcox(Stewart), Gemmill, Benjamin No young uns within a mile. Banker subs during the match will be Keown for Heath & Gemmill for either Nalis if we're winnig or Gudjonssen if we're losing. This is based on Micky's 'squad' mentality i.e use the squad players even if they are in the wrong positions plus the fact that he is oft quoted as "you need experience to fight for promotion from the Championship" and "experience to fight against relegation from the Premier" Not saying he's right or wrong, just my observations.
