Rob.D Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Hi guys!! I've been a lurker on these forums for a while... Listen to Liam's stream whenever I can't make an away fixture (legend) and I've got a query hopefully someone will be able to help with... The last season at Filbert St, game versus Man Utd... We lost 1-0 & got relegated - it was a sky fixture and I'm looking to get a copy of the match on VHS or DVD. I'm hoping somebody somewhere will have recorded it... Cheers
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Sorry can't help, but I do remember the game. Whole ground stood to applause for about ten minutes in appreciation of the good years before it. Poignant stuff.
Bert Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 It was on setanta iirc. Meaning there's little chance of any coverage coming back up.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Wasn't it on premiership plus ? Ole scored the winner and then everyone stood up and clapped at the end.
Guest MattP Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Emotional game that one was, remember everyone standing up and clapping when it had dawned we were coming to the end of an era. I had it on video, I probably still have somewhere in the attic but it would takes me days to try and find it (and I think I recorded over some of it by accident with late night "live tv")
Tom17LCFC Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Was that Bassett's last game before Adams took charge? I remember the United fans singing 'we'll sit down if Leicester stay up'.
billyn88 Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 I remember that day so clearly, as an under 16 getting for £13 in the Upper tier of the South Stand. The thick United fans who thought the referee's whistle ended the silence for the Queen Mother rather than starting it. And an appearance on ITV Central News afterwards. My media career has hit the skids since then, only making an appearance on the football forum.
Solihullfox Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 There was an article in the Telegraph written by Paul Hayward, I think, where he talked about the Leicester fans getting out of their seats and applauding , he said it was a hairs standing on the back of the neck moment and was a wonderful tribute from the fans to the club. I remember being there and it went on for quite a few minutes, magnificent it was too.
A fox for life Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Lump in the throat moment for me! It got voted moment of the season by five live if I remember rightly?
Craig Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Ahhh it was so special. I had a copy on video, but I don't think I have anymore.
