Matt Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~693696,00.html I would have prefered the second choice IF they actually turned the speakers/tannoy up, I personally could hardly heard it yesterday on Tuesday they seemed to mention about the two choices on Tuesday but yesterday they didn't mention it at all on Tuesday you could hear the music, The music still wouldn't be what I would call loud but at least you could hear it. Which set of music do/did you prefer?
BenFilbert Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 I think it's rather embarrassing. The volume is pathetic! They might as well turn it off! Oasis, Kasabian and U2 with PHG as players come out would be good if we could actually hear it. It's pathetic!
Jay Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 I have said it before but I want to hear us "The Fans" creating an atmosphere but this can't be done when nobody can hear each other, if you want loud music go to a concert or turn your stereo up. Playing loud music doesn't create any atmosphere whatsoever at a football match the only people that can change that is us!!

I can remember back to when we got promoted, the music was much louder and we always had a brilliant atmosphere before the match. If no music was played, there wouldn't be an atmosphere at all. I know for a fact that most people agree with me. Nothing against your opinion though.
Durnerz Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 The fans never sing pre match anyway so theres no real point having no music. The louder the music the more positive people are to maintain the volume in the ground, this was justified in the Stoke game when the music was much louder as were the crowd. Thats my theory anyway.

The confidence and expectations are what made the atmosphere. I am sure if the good times return again then the atmosphere will improve, it shouldn't be that way,but that's they way it is

The music before plays a big part in the atmosphere. I have started a poll. Go vote if you want mate.
monkeytrouble Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 Too quite! what are they playing at. Plus great choice of music of kasabian and oasis, but why did they go and fock it up by splitting lsf up?? and even more anoying why did they put that stuppid other 'continetal' song on before PHG?? its not the san siro its LCFC against ipswich!
Wellman Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 Kasabian and Oasis one was better, but they need to turn it up a bit!
Isopen Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 Can't answer the poll. I don't know the Kasbian & Oasis tracks from memory, but may have recognised them had I heard any of them yesterday. Far too quite to have any affect on atmosphere. Can't agree with Jay on the no music front, you are living in a world of over a decade ago - the noise from yesteryear would be replaced by silence now if no music was played
rossporterlc Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 kasabian rule! i'd rather have a different playlist each game though tbh with just the PHG when the players come out, i'm sure i wiull be bored of the songs by the end of the season whatever they are!
cisono Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 Well, it all depends on what the sound quality (and volume) is!??!!

BenFilbert Posted 14 August 2005 Posted 14 August 2005 Must have missed your market research people when they did G2. 156622 What are you on about? If you're saying that people don't agree with me, then look at my poll about pre match music volume.

If you're saying that people don't agree with me, then look at my poll about pre match music volume. 156656 Sorry Ben, I should have looked at your poll. It all makes sense now. 21 people have voted for louder music and the other 19,000 + who attended as Leicester fans are bound to follow suit as and when they cast their vote. And here's me thinking you hadn't done any research into this.

You shouldn't just say something that is rubbish. I know what i'm talking about. You don't.

Guest Posted 15 August 2005 Posted 15 August 2005 To be fair, a sample of 21 is bound to be representative of a population of 19K+.
BenFilbert Posted 15 August 2005 Posted 15 August 2005 Of course you do Ben.Of course I don't Ben. 156748 You don't have to be an idiot. All i'm saying, is that the volume is pathetic and everyone that i speak to at the Walkers says it should be louder. I have started a poll, and even though, obviously, many thousands haven't voted there is a majority supporting my view.

I SIT IN THE KOP and have been a ST holder for over 15 years Atmosphere is generated by a good team winning games and fans enjoying the time watching them. The walkers actually has the loudest PA system for any new ground build...so you dont know it all.....................................................................................................................................................

Why do that?! I can read it all. I didn't say i wanted it so loud that people couldn't talk! I said that it needs to be louder. I also sit in the kop and what's this stupid comment about you being a season ticket holder for over 15 years all about?! I don't care if your first match was against Ipswich or if you saw us play as Leicester Fosse. It doesn't make any difference! I have been going to the matches for about 7 years now, if you must know. Do you really think that without music people will sing before the match?! I get into the ground at 2:15 and hardly anybody gets in until 2:45. I have heard louder music at other grounds. What's the point of saying we have the loudest PA system when we obviously don't use it. 3 years ago the music was a lot louder. I think that with music leading up to when the players come out creates an atmosphere. People don't sing until the match kicks off. The atmosphere would be pathetic without music.
Guest Posted 15 August 2005 Posted 15 August 2005 People don't sing until the match kicks off. 156937 Have you ever thought about starting the singing going?

Also the fans used to sing before the game but its gradually got less and less, one of the reason being, in my opinion is the ever increasing intrusion of the so called 'pre-match' entertainment.

Your in depth commentary and witty repartee is much appreciated. Please feel free to write again should any other little gems come to mind.
