Muz Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 After 4 games 2 losses 1 win and all shit performances! I personally think we'll still be up there. And i am confident we will go up automatically! I think the problem is Micky is to defensively minded it seems to restrict us going forward! I personally cannot see us scoring enough goals. We cant put our hopes on Trevor Benjiman! But im still confident like Gareth Williams says in the Programme it takes half a dozen games to fine tune a new side.So i think we will start to pick up points and move swiftly up the league! A win against wolves would do no end of good and maybe that would kick start our season! We only need one win and the good tmes will follow im sure of that. The fact that Dublin is coming back from suspension aswell is a massive boost! So everybody dont give up on our team yet thres alot of games to go and i believe Micky is the man to take us back where we belong. So KEEP THE FAITH
Guest freund Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 I think when we gel as a team we'll be unstoppable, although that may be in two games or twenty games
mad biker Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 I`m pretty confident we`ll be in the top 2, however to achieve that before we only lost 5 games all season, that means we can`t really afford to loose very many more, BUT Palace lost 15 games last season and are now playing in the premiership ! it`s a "funny old game Brian"
shelly Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 I'm a little worried with how the team looks so mismatched at the moment. Hopefully this will be put right. Well, i did say hopefully!
Guest Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 Not if we keep playing like on Saturday. 14348 It's not just Saturday; we were lucky to beat Derby, and we looked poor against Millwall too. Only the West Ham game did the team come out with any credit. I am worried that this is because the original game plan had to be abandoned, thanks to the referee.
Libertine Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 Yeh, it's strange that we can grind out a 0-0 draw with a promotion rival with being a man down for most of the match, but we lose to a possible relegation candidate at home.

If we can turn draws into wins I think we could afford to lose more than five games...but not many more
bluefox Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 Yes Crystal Palace did make the play-offs having been in the bottom 3 by November. But they also changed the Manager and replaced him with someone who could inspire the team :!: Maybe this will be the option we have to take.
SilverFox Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 Not if we keep playing like on Saturday. 14348 True, but in hindsight we did create a lot. Connolly hit the post twice and Williams missed a good chance...on any other day it could/would have been 3-0...it just didn't bounce for us. Remeber last time we went up we couldn't score against Sheffield Wednesday at home. Nothing would go in, in the end it was an own goal that got a draw...but the point is that that happens in football. Some days you just hit everything but the target. Last time round we lost to gillingham as well so lets not go nuts just yet. While there is hope there is always a chance
gagandeep Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 until we play to our strengths. which i think is a 3-5-2 formation, and pass the ball a bit more. we will go no where. this is the side we need. --------------------------------walker---------------------------------------------------- ----------------------heath--------keown------dabizaz---------------------------------- ----canero-------------------------------------------------------------stewart/makin -----------------------------------gudjohnson------------------------------------------ ------------------------williams----------------------nalis----------------------------- ----------------------connoly------------------------dublin--------------------------- and we should try and play through middle as well. i hope this is the side against wolves, but i dont think micky will be big enough to make that decision.

bluefox Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 Given that I have bought 4 season tickets for this season and last season i feel that i am justified in being critical now..

Tiatto on the left. MA will never play anything else other than 4-4-2 even though we do no have wingers. I admire your insistence but it is never going to happen.
Guest Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 MA won't play anything other than 4-4-2, and the more people suggest it, the more he'll dig his heels in, even if it costs us promotion.
Guest freund Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 Someone mentioned Palace. Palace went on a really good run at the end of the season. Even though we may not be playing well now, I'd much rather MA sorted it out and we went on a winning run at the end of the season, than start playing well then drop off towards the end.
Mark Posted 23 August 2004 Posted 23 August 2004 Believe it or not i thought we would go up, even automatically! I now feel though we have no chance of automatic and we'll be lucky to get top 6 if the first 4 games is anything to go by.
