Connolly struggles to be fit for Crewe

Bad news, we need Connolly badly.

If he isn't I hope Elvis gets the nod ahead of Dublin, we need a bit of pace and mobility, and the thought of a Dublin-De Vries partnership doens't fill me with excitement.

a) It'll be interesting to see how the team manages without Connolly (whatever the reasons) if, of course, it happens.

b) I agree with giving Elvis a full game in his preferred position alongside MDV with Dublin as substitute. It's an ideal opportunity to see how good he really is.

But, for God's sake play with wide men and go for three points as well.

If we're going to be a football team and we're going to put people on empty seats again then we don't need two Dobermen in midfield.

Dublin might be needed to play in defence at this rate (although Craig does say he thinks Paddy and Gerrbrand will be OK for Saturday).:S:unsure:

Connolly had best be fit for Saturday, Hammond may have a lot of pace but as soon as he is found out like Sylla they will man mark him and he'll be out of the game.

I’v been reading this forum for a few week and thought i'd register to post on this topic.

Iv just got back from a pub in Rothley and Craig Levein was there. May mate spoke to him about the game on sat and apparently both Connolly and de Vries are doubtful with minor injuries. If neither can play then the two forwards are going to be Dion and Elvis.

Straight form the mouth of Levein

What are they doing in training these days? It seems we are picking up injuries left, right and centre already and this is only the second week of the season!

A strikeforce of de Vries and Hammond - A combined total of 2 goals in English football. :o;)

I'm hoping that it's a ploy to lull the opposition into a sense of false security.

I wouldn't be surprised - Take the example of Sylla against Ipswich.

We aren't to know until we see it on the tv :ermm:

well at least we know we CAN score without Connors. Yes we may have scored a couple more (like Elvis chance if 1st half)

But we have still scored two without first choice strikers
