MooseBreath Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Trust me getting into the prem, pretty much gets a lot of that back, become established and they would be making money... No need to trust you, I can just look at the facts from other clubs. If a club makes a few million profit it's a big deal, most clubs are losing money. Say we do exceptionally well and make a few million a year, it would take a fair while to claw back 150m. The club isn't going to be worth more than 100m anytime soon. You're talking at least a decade of sound management on and off the pitch before these boys get all their money back.

This post is either the best piece of brilliant off season satire or something just as incredible the other way.
Finn Claw II Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Football clubs in general don't make money but that is not really the point, the 'asset value' is in what they could sell it for to a possible investor. Lots of investors seem to want to buy football clubs either as a plaything, throphy asset or in the belief that they will make money. The shirt / stadium advertising is a really good point but this is not worth tens of millions per year. There is some sporting intelligence stuff on shirt sponsorship deals on the web somewhere. If they did sell for say £200m in a couple of years and broadly break-even then good for them. It is football manager for real!
