maxwelld_ Posted 25 June 2014 Posted 25 June 2014 Sorry but a team, at any level, doesn't deserve to win anything when they are relying on other teams. Agreed !
MC Prussian Posted 25 June 2014 Posted 25 June 2014 Why is it? If you're good enough then you don't rely on other teams... We were superb last season as we won most of our games. Not once were we relying on other teams, a point Nige made. What if we're good enough, but still have to rely on other teams? Nobody expects us to become world beaters in the space of one season (the upcoming PL campaign). So... what if we're playing good football, losing more games than we're winning, but still manage to stay just above the relegation zone and then it comes to the last day of the season and our status in the top flight is dependent on another game's outcome? The last Championship season was something to savour, next season will be a completely different ballgame.

You can't expect to rely on two other teams winning (Italy even winning twice I recall, I cannot remember). I take your point, but that's not in the context I was talking about as explained in a previous post. Although I get what you're saying, I still go by that if you're good enough than you aren't put in that position in the first place. When an outcome is out of your hands, you haven't been "unlucky" you've just not been good enough.
