I blame Wellens Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Well that's it. Lets concentrate on our one true love. Yes we may have the odd affair with England but it always disappoints. Back to the bread and butter, the boys in blue, city slickers... The fixtures are out, the goal line technology ready and the kit on the way. We just need to sign a certain Liverpool striker. No not the shit one who plays for England.
LCFC31 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Assuming the Liverpool striker is Luis Alberto as Suarez's wages would be over the 30k limit.

harpendenfox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 England loses? A bit annoyed but not wholly surprised. Leicester loses, and it's a good hour of grumpiness, followed by a Sunday of media avoidance

lee7 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 They're not out though? They're as good as out. It'll take a miracle for us to go through now.
Bayfox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 They're not out though? Well they wouldn't be if they had taken moore, dd, james, nuge and vardy. Plus lloyd #winners
fuchsntf Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 All those players, who missed tackles, slept on the ball, made terrible passes, got caught in possesion, Will play brilliantly in the PL....and that is Englands problem, PL form doesnot translate to international Awareness and skill.
foxfanazer Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Definitely Club before country. Always have, always will
lgfualol Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 At least with Leicester you don't have to wait 2 years for a decent tournament. With England it's waiting 2 years for the inevitable disappointment. Maybe we'll have a few Leicester players in the next one.

DennisNedry Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Genuinely believe Drinkwater would have offered more than Henderson
Deucalion Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 The last time I got excited about England was Euro 96. I watch but I expect to be disappointed. I'm not even angry about it, I just know we don't have the technical ability of most other countries, and it is apparent in these tournaments. England have never excited me like Leicester however. I'm aware I am from England and therefore English, but my pride and passion is, probably surprisingly for most of the country... Leicester !!
dmayne7 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I'd forgotten how nice it was to not lose all the time!
Leeds_Fox95 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I've always been club over country, it's sad but I can't help it. I'm not one of these lads who can slate these United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal knob heads week in week out then as soon as they put an England shirt on all is forgotten. I don't see them as England players they're still the Liverpool, United, Chelsea and Arsenal knobheads I can't and never will be able to stand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Stadt Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I don't know why people are almost ashamed to put club before country, clubs don't tend (quite as much) to continually disappoint, perennially underachieve and force a sense of disillusionment upon it's fans quite like the national side do. The media whips everybody up in to hoping and believing and all reason is thrown out of the of window every two years and blindly hoping it'll be different this time. Your club isn't full of passionless, overpaid egos who don't care about anybody other than themselves. Our club is exciting not agonisingly infuriating and it offers a sense of belonging and community.

ashfosse Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 country first for me. your country is something you dont choose. the pain of supporting england is addictive. to see england achieve at a major tournament is something everyone dreams about.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Also, I know its been another rubbish result, but in seriousness here, is qualification out of this group REALLY that much of a long shot? I mean come on, you would imagine that tomorrow Italy will beat Costa Rica. This alone opens up our last game as something to play for. I think its almost a given that it will go to the last game and quite conceivable that Italy could turn over Uruguay (as Uruguay wont be comfortable settling for a draw as a Costa Rica win V England would put them out). Even though we sit bottom with 0 points, if two results go with the favourites and we manage to scrape a win V Costa Rica, we are through!

Ffs another person blinkered by sky and the bpl. Our league is full of foreigners. Our bpl is competitive stoke or palace can beat city or chelski. But that is not quality. There is a reason barca, madrid or bayern win at a canter it's called the best of the best. We fill our sides with average players. Big, strong, powerful, etc. Look how our media reveres yaya toure. Yet in spain he couldn't get a game. Time we gave barkley and whilshire etc time to grow.
Harry - LCFC Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Italy 2-0 Costa Rica Italy 1-0 Uruguay England 1-0 Costa Rica These results will send us through. I agree, it really isn't over.
