Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 September 2014 Posted 14 September 2014 Newcastle will go for an experienced foreign manager IMO
Harry - LCFC Posted 14 September 2014 Posted 14 September 2014 What's so wrong about what he said there? Honestly struggling to see anything to dislike.

Harry - LCFC Posted 14 September 2014 Posted 14 September 2014 Really?? An apology for what he said along with a few points about how a bit of regulation can be a good thing. People might disagree but with him but I'm not seeing the bad side to his post.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Why Nigel may? consider the Newcastle job (if it came up) is because they are a huge club. They play to attendances at home of over 50,000 and if you make them succesful, you are completely adored. However, the owner runs it as a business first, football club second. They sell good players, they buy rubbish. Its not a good time to be a geordie fan. The safer option would be to stay at City IMO.
foxfanazer Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Just can't see it happening at all. This seems like a massive project for Nige here and he's built to much now to walk away, and for what? The Newcastle job, nah. Don't think he'd share the same philosophies as Mike Ashley and I don't think they have any better chance of staying up than us. If Nige was to leave it would be for a far better job than that
Buzzell Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 I very much doubt Pearson would be able to work under Mike Ashley. The thought of joining a club of Newcastle's calibre would be appealing until you realise who the person is that you will be working under. Can't see it happening.

Thracian Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Unless any of us are close to Nigel I don't know how anyone can say what will happen. Newcastle obviously have more potential than us, I wouldn't rule it out completely. Why do you say Newcastle have more potential than us? We have wealthy, sensible and supportive owners who seem to have every intention of increasing our ground capacity should our success merit it. They're keen to market us on a global basis, seem prepared to provide sensible levels of funding for our development both on and off the pitch and, while Newcastle were once giants of the English game, that time seems a long way past. I wouldn't mind betting a few pints of Barbars that, given the status quo as it is, Leicester will be a bigger club than Newcastle in 10 years time. We're barely an hour from London and, having been in both cities, there's absolutely nothing about Newcastle that I'd swap for being in Leicester.
