Oxfordfox83 Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Really selfish from him imo, it's not about matching the club's ambition it's about matching his ambition. What an egomaniac Joking?
reynard Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Like Delph. Yes I know. Neither I nor Hodgson in the interview I heard said that you couldn't play for England if you weren't playing in the Champions League. However, he did make it clear that it was preferable that England players had experience of playing at the top level available and went on to say the Champions League. He then referred to how positive it was that Liverpool were in it this season so that the young English players in their side would experience football at that level. It seemed absolutely clear to me that whilst not precluding playes from the squad who had not played in it he sees it as good intermediary step between national league football and international level football.
