samlcfc1 Posted 27 August 2005 Share Posted 27 August 2005 the refereeing decisions were diabolical we always get a rubbish excuse for a ref at home, at least we've got mark clattenburg reffing us at hull.
Gené and Tonic Posted 27 August 2005 Share Posted 27 August 2005 It may seem like a poor excuse and sour grapes, but he was awful, I was so close to running onto the pitch and kicking him.
Cat Burger Posted 27 August 2005 Share Posted 27 August 2005 I don't get how someone can be so against a team and get away with it, our players didn't even seem to care either really, apart from the Dion praying moment.
Thracian Posted 27 August 2005 Share Posted 27 August 2005 Levein should wipe referees out of the players minds completely. They are there to do a job and how they do it should be irrelevent to the players. I'd even instruct the players not to address the referee at all until afterwards. Not one syllable. I would insist on no fouls. No concessions. A bit like Cloughy really. We would go for three goal wins every game. The referee could do what he liked but it would be made clear one way or another. If he cocked up big time against my team, my club, he would never forget the vitriol that would arrive on the referees secretary's desk. I'd expect him to get it right the same as myself and the players. The message would get across. Winning football is not about compromise.
Bluefoxtim Posted 27 August 2005 Share Posted 27 August 2005 The thing that most annoyed me was that he kept blowing up for fouls, even for leicester i didnt know why he gave them! it was silly game was stop start stop start and then he gave freekicks for little things then not obvious ones! rossporterlc Posted 27 August 2005 Share Posted 27 August 2005 He was RUBBISH for both teams mind you i honestly didn't think he was bad, fans expect free-kicks for little knocks nowadays, it's a physical game, plus i thought he penalised their lanky forward way too much
Bert Posted 27 August 2005 Share Posted 27 August 2005 I can understand waht everyone is saying and i feel just as annoyed as the next person, but at the end of the day there is nothing we can do about the referee's decisions! and there isn't a lot we can do about getting rubbish referee's except complain to the football league, but majoirty of the time, they will side with their employee's! Exactly, we should have put away our chances, no matter how bad the ref was.
