bald reynard Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 Where would everyone play him? I'd pick him ahead of Williams, although Williams has been good in parts this season he's done his infamous phantom midfielder trick far too often. I'd pick him ahead of Mo (Sylla) - I think Williams has done OK - and does look as if he might get a goal soon. My midfield would be Hughes, Gudjonsson, Williams and HAMILL (I saw him for Hearts last season and he looks a great prospect - amazing he played 70 times for them and was still only in their Academy !). The only place for Tiatto now is either on the bench or at Left Back.
Kingy Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 If Hughes is 100% fit I'd put him in the middle with Williams Momo on the right with Wilcox on the left !
Durnerz Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 This is a physical league and having a central midfield of two lightweights like Hughes and Williams just won't work for me. Joeys been brilliant and we're getting a lot from him right now defensively and offensively with his crossing at Hull being superb. Williams should be out of the team if anyone, whats he done? Missed a hatful of chances and produced drab set pieces and when we needed him in games like Luton he went missing AGAIN. He can produce magic, granted, but Hughes is more consistant, has a better set piece delivery and can actually finish the chances he gets.

Durnerz Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 Hasn't Hughes only scored once before...? Thats Once more than Williams will this season
reynard Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 Will he really start? I can't believe he will be match fit. i think he should play instead of Sylla who has offered very little of late. Hughes makes some great runs off the ball and creates space in the opposition penalty box. however, he doesn't provide width so we would probably have to play someone other than tiatto on the left.
