Home Crowd

Whilst we could as a fan base do better, there really is far worse, both at this level and below. We're not Palace, but people I know who've gone to the KP over the years have always commented our home support is ok. I reckon a lot of it is down to expectation. I take in a few MK Dons games when Leicester aren't playing as they're my local team and I never expect any noise from the home or away crowd, any noise is a bonus. From my experience of taking in Bundesliga games, I expect nothing short of a barrage of noise. I rememer watching Wolfsburg being tonked 5-1 at home to Hertha on a Sunday afternoon and thinking the atmosphere was bang average. Truth be told it was good, but I'd seen Dortmund beat Leverkusen 3-0 the day before and it swayed expectations.

Went to Frankfurt last year and it pissed over anything I've ever heard in this country to be honest.

But its upto the crowd to get the team going when they are not playing well

No it's the managers and their staffs job, if the crowd make a racket it's a bonus.

These are professional sportsman, and shouldn't need a crowd to motivate them to perform, would sound pretty shit in the after match press conference, sorry we would have performed so much better and won had the crowd sang.

The team put out Saturday and the performance they put in, no amount of singing would have improved them, Infact for large parts L/K/j were very vocal in support, but we still didn't have a clue how to get a result.

Anyone notice how many empty seats in the West Stand on Saturday despite it being a sell out?

A lot of people just not being arsed to turn up to Stoke?

Not another one of these...

Look - we don't have the worst home support in the PL, nor the best away.

I've been to most games this season and I think our home atmosphere compares reasonably well. There are rarely moments when it's loud (i.e. with 60%+ of the fans joining in), but the noise is (reasonably) consistent and we have a decent range of songs, which is more than quite a few clubs.

Also this whole thing about the atmosphere being better "back in the day" is often misleading because no one compares like with like - just the 5/6 best nights you can remember in a bygone era compared with some run-of-the-mill games now.

We're bottom of the table and favourites for the drop, but we've sold out the ground for nearly every game, not turned on the manager (at least not yet), and given the team a decent(ish) backing given the circumstances.

We should actually just get on with things instead of being so remorselessly negative all the time.
