carl edmundson Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 Should Tommy Wright be in the first team?? Personally I think he is a hot prospect for the future.
Ric Flair Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 I think he should be fighting for a first team spot. He's not currently better than Connolly or Dublin, but then I think Wright, Blake and Benjamin are all inconsistent. Wright is a great prospect and I think he needs to be given a chance for him to develop. Last season he didn't have the best of times, but that doesn't mean he should never be allowed to play first team football again. He has looked good whenever i've seen him and considering we are having a nightmare at the minute he deserves his chance. 2 goals for the reserves will help his case, if he keeps that up then Adams will struggle to leave him out.
Mark Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 Yes he should. Simple because he'd be better than Blake & Benjamin up front for us, as backup or to start if one of the current pair gets injured
Mad Dog Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 Wait and see. If he scores goals in the next few reserve games he'll get called up, and if he takes his chance he'll stay in the first team squad. I like the look of our reserves at the moment. I'm looking forward to Dawson making the step up if he carries on the way he did in pre-season and in the other nights reserve game.

Still would love to see Petrescu make it, but he needs to get his finger out.
mad biker Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 Would like to see him involved, at least on the bench, have`nt seen enough of the lad to make a firm judgement, give him a go !!
Guest freund Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 I don't think he's better than Dublin and Conolly, but he probably should have got a chance while Dublin was suspended, even if only a substitute for 15 minutes
SilverFox Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 Not a starting place...he isn't as good as connolly or Dublin. However the bench for sure! Benjamin is not very good and neither is Blake. When Morris is fit and ready to go...if ever, then I would like to think he would be contending, but I don't know, because Wright keeps displaying bits of quality. Like that 25 yarder against the dons...that was class
Ash Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 Not just yet , id say he should be on the bench though
Scow Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 He didn't impress me in the reserves the other night, although he did score a cracking goal. He still doesn't seem to hold the ball up very well, and get's pushed off too easily. However, definitely a better option than Nathan Blake.
Guest freund Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 Well I'll give him 10 games, then I'll make a judgement.

Wellman Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 hey whats the worst that could happen??? play him in a game this season, if he impresses then keep him in there, if not it doesn't really matter

Buzzell Posted 26 August 2004 Posted 26 August 2004 Wouldnt say first team, the bench would deffinetly be the option for him now though.
