davieG Posted 15 November 2007 Posted 15 November 2007 Milan Mandaric today aimed to reward season-ticket holders following Leicester City's difficult start to the campaign and declared: “We can still be promoted.†Mandaric announced that core supporters will receive two free tickets for City's next home game against Cardiff on Monday, November 28. The City owner hopes to lift spirits for the crunch Championship clash and kick-start the season. Mandaric said: “We are not where we need to be but, with the fans' continued help and support, I remain convinced that we can turn the corner and still make a serious promotion challenge this season.†As well as two free tickets to the game against Cardiff, season-ticket holders will also receive 20 per cent off in the City Megastore this weekend. The moves are a goodwill gesture from Mandaric to acknowledge the “magnificent†support during what he described as “a rollercoaster†since he gained control of the club. Mandaric is currently searching for his fifth manager since taking over in February. On the field, City are just two points above the relegation places, although they can close the gap on the top six if they win their game in hand. Despite that, home league attendances have yet to drop below 21,000 this season. Mandaric said: “I would never have envisaged such a rollercoaster start to my tenure here. “But, despite the frustrations, the unprecedented level of support from supporters has been nothing short of magnificent. “We have identified Cardiff as an important match and that is why I have taken the decision to give our season-ticket holders the opportunity to invite up to two friends or family members to the game as my guests. “There is nothing better than a big crowd under floodlights, which will hopefully provide the club a huge lift.†To claim the free tickets, season-ticket holders can visit the ticket office on Saturday or Sunday, or they can email [email protected] or telephone 08448 155000, quoting the season-ticket number.
davieG Posted 15 November 2007 Author Posted 15 November 2007 Empty gesture I think, ticket sales down so let's give them away, promised not to undemine ST holders, so let's give them two. Not much of a reward as nobody wants to go!

Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 November 2007 Posted 15 November 2007 2 tickets for sale Cardiff game £20 each
davieG Posted 15 November 2007 Author Posted 15 November 2007 They obviously don't think so - think of the numbers 15000 (approx) ST holders. 2 free tickets each = 30000. 15000 + 30000 = 45000 Capacity 32000 +/-

Sounds like punishment to me. They tried this under Kelly's reign and it didn't work then. Sky and the pub are more inviting to most casual fans.

davieG Posted 15 November 2007 Author Posted 15 November 2007 About time ST holders got something back, and stop bloody complaining....I'm up for 2 freebies... Just what are we supposed to do with them - it offers me nothing, it's just away of combating the fact the crowd will be down due to the appalling football and Sky. They're not doing it for us, they're doing it to save them the embarrassment of having a 17,000 crowd. Call me cynical but it's an empty gesture.

Leicester City Chairman Milan Mandaric is offering a goodwill gesture to all the club's loyal season-ticket holders this weekend. To acknowledge their valued and continued support during difficult times so far this season, the Foxes owner has organised an exclusive 'season-ticket holder' two-day event. This Saturday and Sunday (November 17 & 18), season-ticket holders will be able to claim up to two FREE tickets for family or friends for City's Championship clash against Cardiff City at the Walkers Stadium on Monday, November 26 (8pm). City's valued customers will also receive double discount - that's 20% off - all weekend in the popular City Megastore, which will also play host to players' signing sessions on both days between 12noon and 2pm. Mandaric said: "I would never have envisaged such a rollercoaster start to my tenure here at the Walkers Stadium, but despite the frustrations, the unprecedented level of support from you, the supporters, has been nothing short of magnificent. "We have identified the Cardiff fixture as an important match and that is why I have taken the decision to give our season-ticket holders the opportunity to invite up to two friends or family members to the game as my guests. "There is nothing better than a big crowd under floodlights, which will hopefully provide everyone connected with the club with a huge lift. "We simply want to help generate a great atmosphere on the evening and I know our season-ticket holders can help do that. "At this current moment in time, we are not where we need to be, but with your continued help and support, I remain convinced that we can turn the corner and still make a serious promotion challenge this season," he added. To claim your free tickets for the Cardiff fixture please visit the Ticket Office on Saturday (9am to 5pm) or Sunday (10am to 4pm) or alternatively email: [email protected] or telephone 0844 815 5000, quoting your season-ticket number.
