I suppose it's a gesture and it might stop the crowd from being embarrassingly titchy, but like the giveaway to those that supposedly haven't been for a while, I think there's a danger that it's counter productive.

If the game is dreadful, which on the balance of probability it will be, those that are in attendance that don't usually go are hardly likely to turn up again any time soon, and are even less likely to actually BUY a ticket. It'll just serve as a reminder as to why they don't bother with it any more. Stuff like this only works if the team is playing well but for some reason attendances are down...it doesn't really work like that at City because when they're doing well all the part timers come out of the woodwork

The amazing offers continue - as a Season Ticket holder of some 16 years I had a "special" letter today saying its my birthday this month and I could buy "my" ticket for a fiver for the Cardiff game.

A bargain - only a fiver for a seat I already paid for.

You wonder what they do at the Ticket Office to dream up such effective use of the customer database. They should perhaps instead notice I don't use the catering facilities anymore after years of utter dross service and standards (and I love my pukka pies).

I wont bother with the freebie thanks. Im not a season tkt holder but can get hold of tickets through work or through my dads mates most home games. I have turned down 3 games this season and will turn this down again. what a waste of petrol, especially at the current bloody prices!!

20% off in the Shop, woopee. Still putting money back into the club! I don't care if people say I'm ungrateful, it's still stupid.

To be honest I feel the same...the way things are at the moment and with it being on sky...if it's as cold on the night as it is at now I will stuggle to use my ST let alone any freebies...it's all very cynical anyway MM knows the attendance is gonna be crap! :rolleyes:

Your spot on, but he can't really pay for the away games as the money is going to the home side (i.e Bristol). I suppose he could subsidise it, but Milan has been quite good with providing free travel to some games. Better than most wankers that call themselves Chairmen! :thumbup:

This is the third game in a row they have given free tickets away.

Will be my 4th or 5th (I can't remember, they're all the same - shite) home game and I haven't paid for any :crylaugh:

As a ST for many years,i dont mind the Club giving away freebies when they know the crowd is gonna be piss poor anyway.

If it entices a few more people to come on a regular basis then it can only be good.

It may be deemed as an empty gesture but it is a gesture none the less.

MM didnt have to do it did he?..

If it gets a few armchair fans out to support City on a cold bitter Monday night when the game is live on Sky anyway(!!!) then good on them :unsure::)

The only thing is if the football is the same as in previous weeks it could well backfire and put any new prospective customers off. What I would suggest is that someone like Milan tells Burrows and Taggart to drop the Megson 3-5-2 system with 8 defenders and have a 4-4-2 with some of our previously unseen more attacking players included. I for one don't give a toss if we loose this one but for just once want to see us attack and have a go with a bit of passion and give us a bit of entertainment!!
