Wherethefoxhat? Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 All the right qualities----------you know it makes sense!!!!!!
Leonisco Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Agreed, he'd be a great appointment. But would you leave Blackpool for us at this moment in time? (Christ I never thought I'd have to say that! )
The Reverend Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 This job is a poisoned chalice. I'd be surprised if anyone wanted it!
Elsie_Effsie Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 All the right qualities----------you know it makes sense!!!!!! Good shout. He's picked up some good experience at Blackpool, and he played under St. Martin, he's LCFC through and through, Get Walshie in on the act as well, Taggart and him would sort out which of the players REALLY want to play for Leicester, and which ones are just playing for their wages.
ASH17LCFC Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Grayson loves leicester, Blackpool haven't won in eight and rumour has it ... He hasn't signed a contract (off the blackpool board) Also Steve Thompson as his number 2 and could get Little in as director of football.
MPH Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 preferred choice is jewell. experience and charisma. will get the crowed and the team going. My only concern with grayson is that this is his first season in the champ, and i just dont see that he will have the vision to go for the kind of signings MM appears to want ( like collins, n'gotty, ect) i wouldnt be dissapointed if he came, he just isnt my first choice.
TheBlinding Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Grayson does want the job. I wouldn't be against it, done a great job with Blackpool.
walshiesgirl1968 Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I was at the training ground this morning and got interviewed for Sky Sports News, told them that I'd love Jewell in the job but thought we'd get Dowie. The players seemed in pretty good spirits, reckon they're glad they won't be playing negative drivel anymore.
Monk Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Why did you post that in this thread?? Just saw you on SSN. Woo
syston_fox Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I was at the training ground this morning and got interviewed for Sky Sports News, told them that I'd love Jewell in the job but thought we'd get Dowie. The players seemed in pretty good spirits, reckon they're glad they won't be playing negative drivel anymore. I was there as well... which one were you?
heskey 4 england Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 id go for grayson as my FIRST choice quality bloke and i think hes the right man for the job at the moment with some backing from walshy and taggart of course
Boycie Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 id go for grayson as my FIRST choice quality bloke and i think hes the right man for the job at the moment with some backing from walshy and taggart of course Firstly Welcome I dunno about Grayson, rather Jewell over him.
heskey 4 england Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 cheers boycie and fair enough but grayson is no mug and will be able to get some spirt in the side which i want to see
Cheese Me Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Grayson is definitely my first choice. Come on Milan, you know it makes sense.
Father Ted Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 That would be a brilliant appointment but dream on!!
Boycie Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Who doesnt want to see that mate, think every City fan has wanted to see passion since MON left so we have been waiting a long time.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Thommo is a North West lad, not sure he'd want to stray this far afield (but then money talks). I'd go with Grayson so long as we could get Thommo as well. Good managers work best with a good coach who've they've known for a while. Thommo was quality on the ball and attack minded. Larry is a sensible bloke. He has a brain and talks sense. An excellent starting point for a manager. That equaliser at Wimbledon in the League Cup semi. Ballistic moment. Worth a shot I'd say.
mmarkie Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 from daily mail Blackpool boss Simon Grayson has emerged as a leading candidate to replace Gary Megson at Leicester. Grayson, who spent five years at Leicester as a player in the Nineties, has established himself as one of the country's top young managers after steering Blackpool into the Championship last season. It is believed he would take former Leicester boss Brian Little as his assistant. source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...in_page_id=1779
Lester LXXIV Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 My first choice would be Jewell but I am certain he won't be coming here. I can just imagine Grayson as manager with Taggs and Walshie as his 2 bovva boys!
Willis Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Grayson as manager with Walsh and Taggs as coaches sounds ideal, if a bit defensive. So bring in Claridge and Marshall as attacking strategists too.
Master Fox Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 I was at the training ground this morning and got interviewed for Sky Sports News, told them that I'd love Jewell in the job but thought we'd get Dowie. The players seemed in pretty good spirits, reckon they're glad they won't be playing negative drivel anymore. What do you look like?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Grayson as manager with Walsh and Taggs as coaches sounds ideal, if a bit defensive. So bring in Claridge and Marshall as attacking strategists too. Oh dear.
