Do I look that desperate to hear "typical football" tell me how much he cares when his performances suggest otherwise? 3. I am a fan not an idiot who enjoys giving his hard earned money to meaningless causes!
lavrentis Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 I pay for World, maybe the commentary will be worth it. Mind you, I used to listen to matches without paying so I am annoyed for the folks without world.
Edmund Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 It's a shambles in regards to the licensing, people should be able to hear it through bbc radio leicester online full stop just like 5 live.
exmoor fox Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 It's a shambles in regards to the licensing, people should be able to hear it through bbc radio leicester online full stop just like 5 live. i just took the "free" membership and they charged me a pound ! so i hope the months worth it
marbelladave Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 £3.99 is hardly a fortune and I would pay it gladly. EXCEPT the bastards have sold out to Microsoft, who in return for the use of THEIR software, block access to anyone not using Internet Explorer on Windoze. OK, I know you can sometimes make Safari or Firefox work but it is not reliable and paying for a service should guarantee that you get what you pay for. In theory I can partition my hard drive, install Windows and run IE, BUT it costs £50-100 to buy a copy of XP or Vista and uses a large lump of my (modest size) hard drive. Alternatively I could buy a cheap laptop/netbook but that costs even more! If anyone can come up with a better solution then the beers are on me!
FilboFox Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 What is the radio link that you can get for the matches off BBC Radio Leicester? That's free at least... but I lost the link...
Head Honcho Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 What is the radio link that you can get for the matches off BBC Radio Leicester? That's free at least... but I lost the link... You can only listen to it on the radio.
FilboFox Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 You can only listen to it on the radio. Rubbish... there was a link that someone had before that I was able to put into Quicktime and it played BBC Radio Leicester no matter where I was in the WORLD as long as I was connected to the radio.

I believe they were saying after the last home game that it had been blocked
FilboFox Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 I believe they were saying after the last home game that it had been blocked Ah right... well that's a pisser... Never mind... £3.99 it is then!

Surely all you need is to download Media player for your mac? The browser should be irrelevant

FilboFox Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=57390last game discussion Well I've got onto Match Console just fine... the only reason I can't play the commentary on that is because I need Internet Explorer 5+... maybe it was just having an off day?
AoWW Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Have gone the route of signing up for the free trial - now, when it gets to the media usage rights aquisition pop up, just keep getting a message that the number of licenses for this content has been exceeded - email their customer services. So, pretty fooking pointless really and still no commentary. BigBawsFaeTheShaws Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Used to rely on the mirror link here as I'm a Mac user. Seems like it's been blocked now. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=53135 Any boffins up here able to set up a new one?

MC Prussian Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 I'm a Mac user and for once I concur with Beck. "I'm a Mac User Baby, so why don't you kill me?"

marbelladave Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Surely all you need is to download Media player for your mac? The browser should be irrelevant Microsoft supply the streaming software, and in their usual style try and block anyone NOT using Windows and Internet Explorer. Websites of all types 'recognize' the user's browser and OS and block those 'not supported', in an attempt to force the owner into using Windows and Internet Explorer. In the past I have had success getting into Match Console using Firefox with User Agent Switcher (from http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/ ) but recent changes to the codec means that the site works fine EXCEPT that the commentary does not decode and is therefore silent. If we can work out what we need to decode this stream, we are in! Ideas anyone?
