Ayew is definitely not more than good enough if he's starting games, which keeps happening

Vardy has never worked in a two. If you mean like Ulloa, Okazaki and Nugent, they all played a very withdrawn role and were more of a attacking midfield link player. Remember when we signed Slimani and played them together? Two number 9's is simply not going to work.
