  1. Good shout if he would take the step down, expect he might get a few championship offers but I guess it depends who they are from. Being a delusional fan you'd hope that if an offer from us came in and an offer from Lincoln came in, they would choose us. Short term it may look silly, but I think if we can give players assurances that financially we can rebuild a decent squad and fight for promotion, we may still appear to be the better long term target. I think we are probably going to have to do a LOT of convincing to players, and despite the facilities (if we can keep them open) it won't be a secret that we are on borrowed time to get promoted, we might end up in a situation where quite a few of our incoming players demand contract clauses in their favour, such as low release clauses to other clubs if we fail to get promoted at the first time of asking. Sadly that's the sort of gamble we are going to be forced to take.
  2. Joe Powell is a free in summer if he doesn’t agree a deal with Rotherham. decent leader on the pitch from what I’ve seen and is a very solid player at this/champ level, plenty of years left in him and although statistically he’s not a big goalscorer or a defensive anchor, he could be a decent and affordable “glue” style midfielder to tie things together.
  3. Ah I'd not spotted that. Yep it will be a free manager for sure.
  4. I think it will be someone like Gerhard Struber at this level, maybe Liam manning etc. It won't be anything inspiring, but I think if we can financially not collapse and we can keep onto players like Page/Nelson, we might have enough to then go and get a manager who has their best years ahead of them.
  5. We can only hope so. Sadly, players like Wout are in a position where if they don't leave, the club could be financially destroyed. It's our own fault, but the players will hopefully play their part and move on now so we can forget this whole thing happened. Other players like Vestergaard and Winks simply cannot stay, if they choose to stay, they are actively choosing to bankrupt this club for 1 years salary, and all of the hundreds of jobs that would be lost because of it. I just hope Wout has done enough to earn a move somewhere else.
  6. This is the issue though and it sort of explains the point, because of modern player power, we are in a situation where LCFC have to now approach Monaco with a lesser offer if they don't meet our requirements, because the player has not lived up to expectations and not performed at the level required for such a high wage. The club are the main issue, we should never have paid that amount in the first place, Wout doesn't choose the transfer amount, but he does demand high wages, and unless he has a relegation clause that reduces his wages dramatically, we cannot afford to pay him, so we then have to beg Monaco to take him at a lower fee. Wout doesn't want to play for Leicester, the fans don't want him to play for us because we think he doesn't try hard enough and is too expensive, but I doubt Wout will want to accept a wage cut to move to Monaco?
  7. I'm not sure what you mean by "Who has ruined than the asset of LCFC???" We know we are in this situation because of massive mismanagement of the club. It's not Wouts fault we paid what we did, it's not his fault we gave him the wages we did, and it's not his fault for staying and collecting those wages. It is the clubs fault for paying those sorts of amounts in the first place, we paid way too much relative to the performances, as we have done with most of this team. If he goes on to have an amazing career at another club, that's great, sometimes a fresh environment is just what a player needs to thrive. If he's worth it, Monaco will bid. If he isn't worth it, we will be stuck in this situation longer. Most of us here are angry with the ownership more than the players, but the players we feel did not care enough about the club to make their massive wages worthwhile, wout is one of those players we feel did not "earn" the amount we paid him. You are free to disagree, but I doubt Monaco will pay him the same amount, if they do, good for him.
  8. Karma being signing players like Wout for nearly £20m and paying him obscene wages relative to his ability. Yes, we got what we deserved for continuing to make incompetent business decisions. Looking forward to Monaco giving us a nice healthy bid for his services and his wages off the books. I'm not even someone that has a hatred for Wout, he made a lot of mistakes but he wasn't the worst offender, I think he was just overpaid for the performances he has put in for us since day 1.
  9. Bournemouth need a new ground... We need a smaller one.... Trade?
  10. I think you're right especially with Vestergaard being 33, a year doesn't make a huge difference to him at this point. He would earn 1/3 of what he's on here to secure a 2 year contract in Denmark, or just ride it out here, get a 1 year deal back home and cash in. Might be different if he was 23, but I can see purely from a financial perspective him hanging on. I think a lot of us probably would if we were not LCFC fans, I'd like to think i'd do the right thing if my wage was going to contribute to collapsing a club, but you never know until you're in that situation.
  11. He's 33 so unless he goes to Saudi or back to Denmark, he isn't getting another offer from a Champ club, so now we find out whether his ridiculous contract here is more important to him than knowing hes actively preventing a huge portion of money going toward saving the football club. We are likely 12 months from administration, hopefully he accepts his time here is done and agrees a deal to move on and accept a lower wage for the sake of the club. Is that final years pay more important than this football club to him? I could understand if he was marginally on the high end of pay, but for league 1, these players are going to be actively holding the club back from any progress.
  12. I don't want to speak out of turn and speak on behalf of FT, but blowjobs all round for JJ if he signs for this circus.
  13. It's been like this all season, even under Cifuentes when we were in touching distance of the top 2 early on, and then touching distance of playoffs in January, all we needed to was stuck ****ing about with it and move the ball forward with aggression. We didn't need route one hoof ball, we just needed to gamble numbers forward and overload teams. The moment we did that today Hull almost crumbled, Rowett had 1 job when he came in, throw the kitchen sink at them. Instead, the clown tried to draw us to safety. You're right, this is 100% on the ownership, and then the players, manager plays a smaller role in it all. We will be back, Thanks for the message, hope to see you go up again, Mckenna is a great manager and hopefully he can take the next step and build you into a stable prem club.
  14. Well you know what, **** the current players, **** the owners. I'm going to choose to be excited about the rebuild of the club, no doubt we are in for a massive battle between rebuilding a great football club, and then whatever the hell the owners are doing. With or without these charlatans, as fans we will keep pushing and trying to hold them to account, trying to get them to listen, we will be here long after those clowns have FO. We likely have 12 months to save the club, it's do or die now, promotion or bust, we NEED to hold these owners to account this summer.
  15. Likeable enough guy, completely out of his depth, talks a good game, but in the end repeats the same mistakes over and over. Walk away tomorrow.
  16. JJ is the kind of player you rebuild the entire club around and make captain, make him the top earner and promise him the opportunity to leave if we fail. Sadly though, he's now off to the premier league and we are going down to League 1. JJ you gave us something we haven't had much of for a long while, a player we actually want to stick around and be with us for the long term, but you don't deserve to stall your career for the sake of this incompetent ownership/board/playerbase. Best of luck for the future, you've got a great career ahead!
  17. It took this team until 20 minutes left of an entire season to show a a bit of fight, and in that 20 minutes they proved we could have stayed up if they weren't such spineless dickheads.
  18. If Rowett had instructed us to play this way since day 1 of arriving, kitchen sink, we would be in a far better position than we are now. Embarrassing that it took us until 20 minutes from relegation to give a shit.
  19. How are we playing lads? I just had the strangest dream where we went 2-1 up and then JJ was subbed off for Winks!
  20. Yep, we were in a situation where we couldn't attack and couldn't defend. The only solution for any manager here was to throw the kitchen sink at everyone and just desperately try to outscore our shitty defence. Rowett has come in and decided to try to draw us to safety and pray teams around us keep dropping points. Every week he sets us up to limit the amount we concede, every week we fail and he repeats. Then he comes out and bangs on about the fact we've had 20+ shots that were of poor quality from non-dangerous positions as if that justifies his system. Does my head in.
  21. What about Crawling (in my skin) to represent how these players make me feel?
  22. Oh for ****s sake. Fold the club.
  23. What is the pre match music? been a couple of seasons since I've been (simply cba to make the effort to travel multiple hours for this club) I always liked Club Foot, first time I heard it at a match I think was when I went to Norwich Away in the early 00s and thought it was a good atmosphere, we had it for a while and thought it worked well with the pre match flames and atmosphere. Gets the crowd up for a fight.
  24. Huge part of me wants to just get this over with. I understand the massive financial implications this will have on the club, so I'm hoping they can be mitigated and keep us afloat, but part of me thinks that IF the finances can be mitigated, maybe going down is the way forward, because if we stay up, these idiots will have more flexibility to continue to make the same mistakes. At least if we go down it will literally force the board to make decisions we've been asking them to make for about 4 years. I really hope we can force them out. If we go down tonight, the rest of the matches this season need to be so hostile and toxic (not advocating violent obv), the players force themselves out of their contracts.
  25. It effectively forces this incompetent ownership to get overpaid, spineless players off the books, and limits their spending capacity to a blueprint that made this club successful, loans, free transfers of players who have a point to prove after failing to make it at bigger clubs, and cheap signings. League 1 is essentially going to force the club to re-adopt the Pearson blueprint as we simply cannot afford anything else. It might hopefully also force the club to really focus on sustainable promotion, so that if we do go back up, they have an asset to sell. We still have issues with players like Kristiansen/BDCR etc still being in contract so we may end up with a few clinging on for dear life, but at the very least it's much harder to make that problem worse now.
