  1. balls, it was advertised as flat on one of these local running websites. Ahh well, it’ll be fun!
  2. I’ve signed up to the Rothley 10k as my second 10k so looking forward to that. Anyone done it before and how flat is it? All the entry money goes to Loros so seemed like a no brainer to do.
  3. Some good deals if you can book in advance, and emirates holidays will have deals on half board or full boards/ kids eat free in some hotels, although don’t often have sales Last time I went ended up staying outside Dubai nr the theme parks with family, so literally nothing around it but taxi or metro into the city was easy. Going again to same place later in the year.
  4. Plenty of multi centre holiday choices in Asia, I would recommend any combination of Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Singapore, Bintan, Bangkok, Bali. Singapore is a good base to go onto places in the region but is a great destination in its own right.
  5. Has anyone had any success appealing a primary school offer? We didn’t get into the school within walking distance cause it was ‘oversubscribed’. That said, got into a good school still.
  6. 54.15 in my first 10k today at Leicester Big 10k. Was aiming for anything sub-56, so am happy with that. Looking forward to trying some other events now.
  7. I did Heathrow T2 two weeks ago for a Saturday evening flight and it was fine, security was around 10minutes, and moved quickly. Enjoy Sri Lanka, lovely place.
  8. Finished January having done 80k of running overall and then got my PB of 25mins at Abbey Park PR today. Really pleased and looking to sign up to the Leicester 10k in April now I’ve got the bug.
  9. It’s a nice drive and smooth, does about 270 on full charge atm, so quite a bit less than advertised for the long range version but that’s fine for me and it’s a good size inside.
  10. Had a Renault Scenic e-tech since mid Nov ‘24 on lease. I’ve done about 1,500 miles and the equivalent cost is £100 charging at home, having switched tariff. Not had to charge whilst out yet luckily. Wall charger was £1k and it’s a Podpoint, app is great, can see how much I’m using and can schedule charging overnight.
  11. 27mins at the Abbey Park PR today, only my second time doing it, so am pleased with that. Been doing a lot 5ks on the treadmill, different game outside on cold days like this!
  12. We did negombo > kandy > dambulla Negombo was just few days in nice resort hotel, near Colombo and airport, but Colombo not that interesting. Kandy was great and lots of cultural things to see and do. Dambulla was to see the elephants and could’ve gone sigiriya rock but chickened out. only had one dodgy/ near miss on a tuk tuk ’tour’ in kandy where we thought we were being kidnapped so keep wits about you, but other than that all good!
  13. Somehow missed Succession when it first came out but started watching on holiday earlier this year and my, my, it is awesome. Not seen a show like it.
  14. Could try Merchant of Venice on the Lanes, that’s got some great reviews and got nice atmosphere, albeit we only went in for drinks at the time.
  15. Dune: Prophecy, what a mess!
  16. Great films. If you’ve not watched already, you may as well watch Zodiac for the mark ruffalo trilogy!
  17. The train up and down the coast from Nice is good, lots of nice places to visit Antibes, Cannes, Villafranche and of course Monaco.
  18. Latest season was brilliant, watched it all over a few nights this week. Set up well for season 4 hopefully.
  19. The river surfing in the English Garden is a cool spot. I also visited dauchau, which was a worthwhile trip but obviously very sad.
  20. Booked to go Singapore and Bintan (Indonesia) for 14 days at end of February.
  21. Dumb Money on Prime about the GameStop stock was brilliant, not sure how i missed that one coming out.
  22. Latest episode is brilliant, just a shame the series has taken so long to build up to it. When the episodes don’t include the Harfoot/numenor storylines, they are so much better.
  23. It’s hot and humid all year round so do think it’s a year round place. They do say best time to go is December to April cause it’s drier, but I’ve been Kuala Lumpur in Sept and was perfectly fine. Also, visited Singapore and Langkawi in February. Malaysia and Singapore are great countries, people are accommodating and friendly and food is amazing. I’d like to go Georgetown and Batu Ferenghi next.
  24. Probably not, I’d say min. two days at the park, and both are worth going to even with young kids like yours. We went last year and stayed in hotel in Val D’Europe, to try save on monies. The hotel had regular transfers to the park shared with others in the area. Plus meant there were cheaper eating options before heading back to the park in the evening.
  25. Watching the Rob Burrows documentary on BBC was heartbreaking tonight and puts things into perspective. Hits hard when you see his family around him and how brave they have been.
