  1. Jealous.

What was it like? Martina T-B any good?

The first half of Massive Attacks set was pretty hmmmm few to many new songs to start with but the second half was blinding especially the stuff from Mezzanine Teardrop (with Martina) Angel with the brilliant Horace Andy, Inertia creeps, rising sun and so on

some videos from the Manchester gig earlier in the week

    couple more videos here

Martina was errr different :D she sang Teardrop and did some other stuff with MA her own set was entertaining but she was having to multi layer her own vocals on a loop station during the set and drummer was playing guitar, digeridoo, bongos, weird computer thing and god knows what else I sense and awful lot of production is involved in her music and it must be difficult to transfer it a liver performance. I did enjoy it though

  2. Did you know Martina Topley-Bird is supporting? Thats who I want to see.

Dont know if you have seen them before. They are not the most exciting band to see. Last time I saw them Daddy G was stood next to me at the back for two of their songs! WTF! Horace was singing at the time.

The wife likes them and I suppose I will get to hear the new stuff eventhough the new ep is poor.

Yeah she's the one who sang on maxinquaye with Tricky isn't she? she does sings during massive attacks set as well I believe

  3. The simple fact that my licence fee is contributing to Ann Robinson's hideous plastic surgery and her offensive presence on my television.

isn't she like the 2nd highest paid employee of the BBC after Jonathon Ross? which I can see no valid reason for

she looked like a ventriloquests dummy on Watchdog seeming to only have the ability now to move her bottom lip up with no further movement in her face at all

  4. went to see Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) and the Guantanamo school of medicine the other day in Sheffield, far better than I was expecting and brilliant to hear Jello doing California Uber Alles, Holiday in Cambodia, Lets Lynch the Landlord and Moon over Marin live

next on the confirmed list is Massive Attack and The Arctic Monkeys maybe a few more in the pipeline as well

  5. Philosophical, maybe, but what is fact in this situation? Observations and interpretations contained within the book have as much relevance as the ones Clough put into his own biographies.

For me it holds as much validity. It's a perspective on history with its individual merits and (for me) made an excellent book and a delightful film.

Just because one Leeds player sued doesn't make the allegations about what Giles said untrue because there is an equal lack of evidence for his support of Clough. Because he didn't. Society doesn't take kindly to warts and all portrayals of its heroes, and individuals don't want the light focussing on them in connection with it.

    I enjoyed it no end.

very valid points and I imagine if was a film about some random victorian bloke that was totally made up with no factual evidence whatsoever that that fact thing wouldn't be relevant anyway.

I did think Michael Sheen was great as Clough though and Timothy Spall is one of my favourite actors

  6. 'The Dammed United'. Not a bad film but not a great film. For those of us who can remember the 70s the period detail was good but Cloughs obsession with Revie didn't really ring true to me. The film seemed to lack something. 7/10

    Fact maybe?

it seems strange to make a film from a fabricated novel when you could easily have made a Brian Clough Film biography he gave people enough material to string something together.

I believe the original book was so false that some Leeds players even sued the writer when the book came out as it was so wrong and wide of the mark.

I watched half of it got a bit bored will watch the rest some other time

  7. I wached The Goonies with my old housemate a few months ago and at the end he revealed he had never seen it before. Now, not watching Star Wars I can understand, but The Goonies!? Unforgiveable.

Never seen The Goonies that is a disgrace plain and simply it's not acceptable!! how on earth can someone haver cantered through life oblivious to the Truffle Shuffle!

please tell me they have seen back to future if not then you will need to have serious words, maybe lock them in a room or something until they have seen every cult movie from 1980 onwards it will be for the best.

  8. Are you actually going to be setting foot on Lincoln Uni's hollowed turf?

not unless I get lost!! which judging by my visit the other night is a very high possibility, and that was using sat nav!! my employer is sending me on a management course one afternoon / evening a week at Lincoln College. I think I am being groomed or something although I thought that was illegal
