  1. Looks like a young Pirlo when he plays
  2. We have many members waiting to get a season ticket, the demand will be there. If we do have a 42k capacity and full of season ticket holders, will they all turn up every home game? Probably not but it will still increase our finances and stature.
  3. I will never understand why teams play 3 cb’s against 1 striker. if your playing against 1 striker with 3 cb’s, your either going to get over run in midfield or out wide, or both.
  4. Hamza is the modern day Robbie savage, he has a great engine but he is a very limited footballer. he doesn’t suit our style of play but could go on to have a premier career like Savage, although I feel the premier league doesn’t really have teams that play with that type of player anymore. I would personally wish him the best for the future, as he and his parents would have put in a lot of time, effort and dedication in enabling him to come through the academy over the years and they would all have sacrificed a lot along the way.
  5. Grillitsch and belotti would be excellent free transfers, especially the stature and aggressiveness of Grillitsch in midfield.
  6. This guy is starting in September and it looks like he is the one that will be play a major part in the rebuild that we will need next season. In my opinion, I think the September starting date for him was more at our request rather than Southamptons reluctance for him to start earlier here. I think the club do not have faith in the players that Brendan recommends and they didn’t want to waste any more money, especially when we are also trying to rebuild the squad and reduce the wage bill on squad fillers.
  7. When we do sell Fofana it will be for a monster fee, especially when Chelsea just spent £63M on Cucurella, and also considering they already have 3 left backs.
  8. With some of our recent purchases, I’m not so confident mate 😂
  9. I don’t believe Maddison will be sold, we also can’t afford to lose him as we probably only have 3 creative players in our starting 11. Madders, Barnes and Youri are the 3 and we will lose youri in one of the next 3 windows, which still leaves us short.
  10. In my opinion, Fofana now at only 21 is at a better standard than what Virgil was when he joined Liverpool as a 27 year old back in 2018 for £75m. What a players value is, is not set in stone and it is decided by what the selling club feels is an acceptable amount to let that player go.
  11. This journo is a joke, it like me saying I want an original Shelby cobra 427, although it’s worth millions I’m looking for a compromise of a few £100k, and although I won’t pay the asking price, I’m still interested and hope someone sells one for well under its value. I swear transfer windows bring out the morons.
  12. In the past, Middlesbrough, Fulham and Everton have had new owners/cash injection and splashed the money but it only got them to a certain level. In my opinion, Newcastle at this moment in time have about 5 good premier league players and the rest of the squad will need upgrading dramatically.
  13. Newcastle can do all the bidding that they want for players but I really don’t see them as being an attractive option to the top players in the premier league or other top players abroad. geographically the top players want to live/play in London, Manchester or play for Liverpool. generally their squad is poor and it will take a fair while to get the quality and squad depth for them to become a regular top 6 side.
  14. £100m is not that unreasonable of a price tag, ben white went for £50m last year and Fofana is at least twice the player he is now and he also has a far higher ceiling of growth as a player than white. I do get your point about it being in the top 10 transfers of all time but the market prices have gone up so much, and players of the ability and potential of Fofana will be sort after.
  15. I can’t remember any our keepers of the last 30 odd years being a commanding keeper, especially with regards to coming and claiming crosses. in my opinion kasper has been our best keeper without a doubt over those years. Our defensive issues are down to tactical coaching, awareness and also how we set up at set pieces with regards to zonal or man marking.
  16. He wasn’t great last year at all but I think the key to him and all our cb pairings playing well is Jonny Evans, he is one of the best readers of the game in the premier league and he is an excellent organiser. he drops off more while Soyuncu or Fofana play their aggressive ball winning game whilst he will mop up any thing that comes through. He is a good player and we know that but he has to be in the right pairing at the back, personally if we can get him to sign a new deal then I’d keep him, Fofana is brilliant but he does worry me at the moment when he gets a knock on his leg and also if he keeps playing well and fulfils his huge potential then he will move to an elite club (that could be next season) so I wouldn’t want to lose them both so soon.
  17. Over the past season his goal ratio in the league is 1 in 4, and he virtually guarantees 8-10 assists also. he is 24, a proven premier league regular starter in a side that has been pushing for champions league regularly (until last seasons injury hit season) and an England international. As others have said, sterling was in his last year of contract and Man City wanted to sell, also Richarlison is inconsistent and Everton wanted to sell. £70m for a player that will average around 20 goal and assist contributions a season in the league, is not a crazy fee when you think about it. He may have quiet periods or moments of indecisions in the game but we have to keep him.
  18. No idea but I’m gonna take a random guess at Julian watts 😂
  19. £1m a week and a £100m signing on fee is his motivation mate
  20. Kasper was out on loan until he was 22, muzzy izzet was out on loan to us at 21 and let’s not forget the fact that the legend that is lord Vardy did not even play professional football until he was 25. Players develop at different ages.
  21. I’ve been saying this to friends for weeks now, your not alone with your opinion.
  22. RIP Bernie, a true Leicester fan.
  23. Rip Liam, my thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends
  24. Brilliant post Ric Flair, more money should be put into the lower leagues and grass roots clubs in general to support youngsters getting the opportunity to play the game at a high level. To be honest I think there should around 4 academy teams per age group as too many youngsters get released far too early before they can develop. I think their should also be B teams or reserve teams that play in competitive leagues outside the 4 divisions. anything that improves from grassroots up through academy level and beyond will not only help more clubs be financially stable (more funding available for grassroots) long term and would ultimately help the national team too.
  25. Would be a very good signing, under Brendan i don’t think we will sign a winger as he generally only plays wide forwards and the old type of winger is not his style.
