  1. It doesn’t look great! However, I guess one is tax evasion and the other is tax avoidance. Either way, it’s basically tax dodging and double standards. However, every media outlet runs like this and they’ll build everyone up with the left hand, to rip them down with the right.
  2. I was kinda hoping she’d get shuffled out!
  3. The issue with this government, is that they got in being “not the tories”. So many people defected as they voted in protest at the stupid stuff and self harm they’d done. Partygate, bumbling Boris and then followed by the disaster of Liz Truss was the undoing. Dorries isn’t wrong when she says the Conservative Party is done either really, as they have no identity at the moment either. Badenoch isn’t exactly an inspirational leader and we all know that when it comes to general election time, people don’t look at policies, they tend to vote on charisma and headline sound bites. If this form of Labour collapses, we could in principle end up at the next general election with a far right in Reform, a far left in Corbyn, then Davey being a central option.
  4. Would he last as long as Liz and the lettuce?
  5. The bit in bold is so true. I’m in the same boat in being a conservative historically but I’d rather have Starmer, than whatever Farage brings to the table. Whatever the question is, the positive answer is never Nigel Farage. It is fixable, not every person is however going to like what’s proposed.
  6. Wordle 1,539 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟩 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟩 ⬜⬜🟩🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I find only getting the last letter first quite annoying
  7. She’s just made a bit of a mess of the entire situation in all honest. She isn’t the first, she isn”t the last. What people need to remember, and I type this without trying to be offensive and harsh, that she didn’t come from a background of wealth and won’t have been surrounded by very money suave people for 95% of her life. She will however resonate with a demographic within this country that the likes of Starmer, Sunak, Cameron etc never will. I’ve said before I’m maybe more central / right, I’m not a fan of her, however I can sort of see how she has got herself into this situation.

  9. Any positives?
  10. The wife and daughter were watching “The Summer I turned Pretty”. I am also now watching “The Summer I turned Pretty”. Its okay you know, although I feel I’m way off the targeted demographic for it and I’m maybe the only male on this forum that is watching it
  11. As far as I can work out, they’re just anti immigration but I’m not sure what the solution is!
  12. To be honest, it’s been a mess. No one really got what they wanted or voted for, whatever side you were on. The campaign was built on lies and propaganda and that hasn’t changed since.
  13. It looks like the Chinese military parade has upset Donald Trump and has largely been attended by countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. You really wouldn’t want to get stuck in a war between them and America now, so hopefully this brewing Cold War stays just that!
  14. Also, if you break down significant events for each leader, it’s quite interesting and you sort of forget some of the stuff that has happened. It is also worth stating that Starmer hasn’t done a full term, so a lot more could do right, or wrong yet. If anything, it’s nice to compare them a bit like this:
  15. I’d say right now, he’s likely to get 4 years. Concerningly (is that a word), I think the rise of Reform could really throw a spanner in the works. One thing I will say on Starmer and to a degree, Rishi and Cameron as well, they actually felt like Politicians that in all honesty weren’t show people. If you take their roles in isolation, they didn’t exactly tank. Rishi fell largely for me, because he was the victim of his party.
  16. This is quite subjective Austerity is difficult to call, we definitely were in that from 2010 in the financial crash, maybe until just before COVID. Which then turned the world on its head so largely into 2023 / 2024. Recessions are global, not caused by a single person. The NHS is still understaffed and mismanaged. We’ve had sewage in rivers for years, still is now. One side of the coin would say, Covid was dealt with quite well, compared to other areas. The cost of living crisis is still ongoing, it will be for a significant period, let’s be real, too many people now live in credit, keeping up with the Jones. The current estimates on house building, indicates that actually we’ll build the lowest number of properties in a year since 2015 (sub 200,000 new properties).
  17. Yes, I’ve done some more (further) internet based research and found out the underlining tones to it all now. I’ve not really kept up with all the protesting about boats, hotels, immigration etc, as I basically see the entire British population as being largely multicultural. Whichever way it gets sliced, the British Isles has always had a high population of immigration, be that 0 BC to modern day, we’ve had Romans, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Frisians, Vikings (Danish, Swedes and Norwegians), Normans, JewisH, Flemish, Italians, Hanseatic, Africans, Huguenots, Dutch, Irish, Caribbean, Asian, Chinese, Eastern European, Cypriot, Ugandans, Somalians, Vietnamese, Balkans ….. each group will have been persecuted at the time, as they were different and perceived not to belong. The British caused half the bloody problems by taking over half the globe. What makes Britain, well Britain though …… “Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. And the most British thing of all? Suspicion of anything foreign.” We are as a nation multicultural and have largely peacefully co-existed like this.
  18. I thought it was generally accepted that Starmer had current labour more centre right in terms of politics, Rishi was maybe closer than Liz and Boris.
  19. Yes, I’m not quite sure why people are defacing roundabouts either. Has anyone gone around painting them back white yet? I did see someone had painted the colours the wrong way around, so basically the Danish Flag, which made me laugh.
  20. I almost feel like the country is going all American and people feel the need to put a flag outside the house Maybe I’m just laid back, as I don’t resonate with it in the slightest.
  21. What does it all mean though?
  22. Please could someone enlighten me to what’s occurring with all this flag nonsense? I’ve tried to avoid it, however I feel I need to come out from under the rock.
  23. For Dibling you’re paying English Tax, he’s younger and is seen as a generational talent. Many believe he’ll go on to be a top, top player. Fernandes I don’t disagree really, I see him as very much in a similar way to El Khannous.
  24. I’ve watched some more highlights of him and I think he’ll be a slower version of Daka to be honest. He looks to work hard but I’m not convinced he’s here for the long term.
  25. This is a sensible post and I agree with it. I’d also add, based on what we’ve seen from Hermansen so far, I’m not sure his transfer is below market value either.
